Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiala Taylor
Hi Tiala, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I knew my place belonged in dance when young, but I was unaware of the heights I’d reach and I’m still climbing.
All Praise Be To The Most High.
I began dancing in recitals, at church, and studying famous videos mimicking everything down to the finger movement. I adopted my passion and etiquette from praise dance. I learned my technique from schools and self training. Day and night, I’d choreograph dances and twirl around the house. I was delirious for dance and remain till this day.
I had my first born at 16 years old and vowed to never give up on my dream. While training at Lindenwood University for a BFA in Dance with an emphasis in contemporary, it was the only degree I pursued. I gave myself no option but to make my dream career a reality and I continue to show up in that truth.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
From my perspective, I’ve been blessed to live such a peaceful and fruitful life. I’m glad to say that my career climb has been consistently elevating, even through the pregnancies I performed & taught. I have 3 beautiful children, whom are backed by an army of a community and the support we receive is grand. I’m truly grateful for the positive abundance. I’ve definitely had my share of trials, though those lessons arrived me here in my greatness.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Celebrating 10 years professionally in dance education & entertainment; I’ve finalized my dream business this year. One that could uplift and enrich communities through dance, while supporting artists properly. Providing spaces for artists with families, as well.
Tart Techniques & Entertainment is a company committed to communal progression through master mobility training, novel choreographic productions, soulful community leadership, and exceptional performance artist direction.
I’m solely known for my performance works, choreography, activism, teaching, and dance direction—taking my expertise from these 20+ years in training have landed me to Tart Techniques & Entertainment.
I’m proud to say that I’ve always delivered beyond expectations and have a great connection with the community. I’m here to heal with movement, in ways that are bigger than what I can imagine.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Being optimistic and positive. “Positive thoughts, positive outcomes.” Whether it be in motherhood, the studio, or my own self development; speaking life into something outweighs having a negative mindset. Why damage when you can enrich?
