Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Strange
Hi Madison, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always knew I wanted to help others feel beautiful in their own skin. I had struggled with acne as a teenager and was fortunate enough to be introduced to the skin care industry. It felt like such a calm and gratifying job…I instantly knew this was what I wanted to do. Right after high school, I enrolled into University of Spa and Cosmetology Arts in Springfield, IL to become a Licensed Esthetician. After graduating, I landed my first job in my hometown at a medical spa. I was there for around 5 years and became certified in Lasers, Chemical Peels, Coolsculpting, and Microneedling. I had no idea how vast being an Esthetician could be! I am still so thankful for the experience and opportunity I had there. Covid made me relocate to St. Louis where I found a home in another medical spa. I was there up until this year and am still very fortunate for the time I got to spend there. While there, I made so many strong relationships and had the opportunity to become Certified in Microblading. I found a whole new love in creating eyebrows and building trust with my clients for such a nerve-wracking treatment. From my 10 years in this industry, I have seen how overwhelming the skin industry has become and was inspired to open my own business. I have had a vision for a long time to redefine what “beauty” means- and it is at Sheer Skin Aesthetics LLC. Coming from medical spas which can be very intimidating, this is a safe and inclusive space for everyone of all skin types.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being in the beauty industry for so long definitely has its challenges. As I touched on briefly- times are really changing. Social media has evolved rapidly within the last few years, especially with filters and AI. We spend so much time comparing ourselves to online influencers that we forget about how beautiful we are as individuals. Being only in medical spas, there was a certain expectation to “look beautiful” and I personally feel like beauty is so subjective. I have actually been told a few times that I am not pretty enough to be in this industry because of my personal style. The whole reason I had gotten into this industry was to embrace our differences yet enhance what we already have. I am here to bring that mindset back.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Sheer Skin Aesthetics is a safe and inclusive environment for all skin types. As an Esthetician of 10 years, I specialize in custom facials, waxing, and microblading eyebrows. I am known for my art with eyebrows and my signature touch with facials. Skin health is very important to me and “beauty” is just a plus! I am most proud of my space. My space is professional, yet relaxed. It truly is an open environment where I build strong relationships while providing professional results.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
After work, you can find me dancing, creating stained glass, or hanging out with my partner and dog! I am inspired by movement. Whether it’s using my hands or my body, I am always surrounded by creation!
