Hi Adina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey in the world of event planning and community engagement, began in 2007 when I founded my first wedding consulting agency, Why Knot Events. From the very start, I found immense joy in helping couples plan and implement their dream weddings, creating unforgettable experiences that celebrated their love, as well as organizing events that brought communities together.
Since 2017, I have also had the joy of collaborating with amazing community partners to host notable occasions like Tower Grove Pride, Rosè Day, Dutchtown Summer Vibes,Cherokee Street Cinco de Mayo, STL Women’s March and most recently, Festival of Nations.
Fast forward to 2023, when I took a significant step by opening my first brick-and-mortar location on Cherokee Street. This new venture marked a pivotal moment, as I pivoted my focus to work alongside small business owners, entrepreneurs, and artists.
Together, we create comprehensive business plans, engaging social media content, impactful websites, and community activation events that foster growth and connection.
Each of these experiences has enriched my passion for community building and event planning, allowing me to contribute to the vibrant tapestry of our local culture.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey of collaboration has certainly had its challenges, as it often involves navigating a diverse array of opinions, budget constraints, and varying visions. These complexities can sometimes create bumps in the road, but they also offer valuable opportunities for growth and innovation as we work together toward a common goal.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
One surprising fact that many people who know me or have worked with me might not realize is that I am actually an introvert. I genuinely enjoy spending time alone in a coffee shop, reading a magazine or listening to music. However, in my professional life, I’ve had to adapt and operate as an extrovert.
Fortunately, I have an incredible team of extroverts who support me, making it much easier to navigate social interactions and collaborate effectively.
