Daily Inspiration: Meet Lauren Sutton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Sutton.

Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Ever since I was young I loved being a creative girly girl! Whether it was through my clothes, my hair, nails or even my personality! Being creative is what keeps my mind at peace. Trying new things, experimenting with ideas, anything that requires my brain to be actively creative I was on it! 2018 is when I discovered press on nails…and let’s just say I fell in love! At the start I was getting them from your local drug stores like Walgreens or CVS or even beauty supply stores. After awhile I started to get bored with the design options. So what do we creatives do? We figure out how to do it our selves, and that exactly what I did. I did a bit a research on how to make press on nails unfortunately there wasn’t a lot of information about the topic put on the internet at the time, but I still managed to figure it out with the little information I had. So my freshman year of highschool I had a new set of nails every week. Unfortunately for that second semester Covid came and we were all on lockdown. During this time I wasn’t really interested in keeping my nails done so press on nails took a pause. I didn’t start back up until the summer before my senior year of highschool. Now that my work was better I was getting more compliments. Once they started to see my capability they wanted to wear the nail’s themselves. So my peers and friends encouraged me to start my own press on nail business. For Christmas 2022 I told my mom and grandma that I wanted to start doing nails. In return they bought me everything I need to start my business, and it’s been great ever since.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For my personally my journey has been smooth sailing. Support, sales and finances haven’t been an issue. The support I had was the reason I started the process to begin with. My mom and my dad’s wife would take my nails with them and sell and promote them to people they knew. Getting my first sale came quickly due to the demand that I had. As far as finances I will forever have my mom and grandma to thank for being in my corner from Day 1!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make custom and premade press on nail sets. The thing that I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come and the fact that I never gave up, even when times outside the business were rough. I think one thing that sets me apart from other is my versatility in design. I’m able to do simple designs like French tips but I’m also able to intricate designs such as sculpting.

What’s next?
My current plans for the future is to own a beauty salon. A place where you can get everything done at, like a one stop shop. Hair, nails makeup etc.

Pricing:

  • I have a baddie on the budget collection that ranges from $12-$25
  • Simple sets can range from $35-45
  • Intricate design are $50+
