Conversations with Artez Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Artez Williams.

Hi Artez, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Artez Tycoon, also known as Artez Williams—a multi-disciplinary entrepreneur and digital creator. I’m active in content creation, music management, shoe restoration, and gaming. As the founder of 5280 Ent, formerly known as Mile High and Make It Look Eazy, I’ve built my brand alongside like-minded creatives who share a passion for purpose-driven work.

My love for music runs deep—rooted in family ties to the industry and inspired by those who came before me. I was raised in East St. Louis, Illinois—the “City of Champions”—where I learned lessons and values that continue to shape my journey today.

Every day, I strive to grow—not just as a creator, but as a father, husband, entrepreneur, and community role model. My mission is to be a light for those in darkness and a voice for those unheard. Above all, I aim to create platforms that empower others to pursue their dreams and make their vision a reality.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is no such thing as a smooth road. Life has its bumps and obstacles. I’ve faced numerous challenges my entire life. When you come from an environment where more people than not have the “crabs in a bucket” mentality you naturally face obstacles.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a proud graduate of McKendree University, where I earned a degree in Business Management and Sport Management, along with a minor in Marketing. Currently, I’m pursuing my Master’s in Game Design at Lindenwood University, continuing to expand both my knowledge and my creative reach.

I own a production company called 5280 Ent and a shoe restoration business known as Kick Control. I work alongside a team of passionate and dedicated individuals, and together we’re developing a podcast. In addition, I’m working on a solo podcast titled Control, Alt, Believe, where I’ll explore my thoughts, ideas, and experiences in business and creativity.

As a gamer and streamer, I’m a member of the DNA stream team, actively building a presence in the digital entertainment space. I also run another venture, Royal Heritage Group, and work as a photographer, videographer, and part-time actor. Being surrounded by so many talented creatives in the music industry has inspired me to have fun with music myself—leading me to occasionally record and develop a well-rounded sound I’m proud of.

One experience that stands out was when my team and I traveled to Atlanta early in our journey. We collaborated with Dr. McPherson and Abdul Ra’oof from the SOS Band on a remake of their classic hit Weekend Girl. Being in the presence of legends—people who are truly respected in the music world—was unforgettable. The energy, the knowledge, and the creative atmosphere were powerful. We worked with multiple Grammy Award-winning musicians, soaking up wisdom and sharpening our craft. I was proud of how we showed up and made an impact, representing our city with pride.

Individually, I’m proud of the solo grind—the late nights, the consistency, and the growth I’ve built across my platforms. From traveling and networking with bigger creators to seeing my content gain traction, the journey has been rewarding.

What truly sets me apart is my versatility and focus on quality. I’m involved in many areas—music, gaming, business, fashion, media—but I ensure every project I touch is done with intention and excellence. My drive and commitment continue to push me forward, and even with everything I’ve already accomplished, I show no signs of slowing down. I’m always climbing, always striving to reach that next mountaintop.

What matters most to you?
What matters most is my family and friends. I grew up in a unique kind of family—one where our love for each other runs deep. It might seem unusual to some, but we genuinely enjoy being around each other all day. The bond we share is rare, rooted in loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support. It’s something I cherish deeply.

I truly believe my family, as amazing and genuine as they are, deserves to experience the world and all the beauty it has to offer. They’ve poured so much love into others—it’s only right they receive that same abundance in return.

The same goes for my friends. The people I choose to keep close are like-minded, driven, and full of heart. They, too, deserve to explore different cultures, see new places, and be exposed to everything life has in store.

In short—they deserve it all. And I’ll always do what I can to help them get there.
