Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Niemeyer.
Hi Ashley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve always loved to travel, from family vacation to group trips with 4-H, FFA and cheerleading in high school, I grew up excited to explore the world. I studied abroad in Paris during college and traveled as often as I could with my husband Ryan. We’ve had some amazing adventures like our Honeymoon in Greece, exploring the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and visiting his former college in Prague, Czech Republic. In my twenties I worked in Fashion for a while, then decided to stay home with my three young children. As they have gotten older and have more time at school I’ve re-entered the work force as a Travel Agent, and am so excited to help others pursue their dreams of traveling.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Raising young children can be difficult for working parents, the cost of daycare may outweigh the income of one parent (especially with three!). It was my personal choice to quit a career I enjoyed, knowing I had to give up a position I may not ever be able to return to. I’ll never regret the time we had together as a family. As the kids are growing older I find myself with more personal time available and working from home is a way I can still be present for the kids needs and special moments. Starting a totally different career in my late thirties might sound like a bit of a mid life crisis but I’m coming to see it as a glow-up! I didn’t know how successful I would be as a Travel Agent, or what kind of income I’d be earning since we work on sales commission, but so far I’ve surpassed my own goals and am loving it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Travelmation- Ashley Niemeyer Adventures?
I’m a Travel Agent specializing in multi-generational family travel and group travel. Planning vacations gets tricky when lots of people and logistics are involved, which is where I can help make things easier. There is significant growth in the Travel Agent profession lately with one of the main reasons being the travelers desire for more complex itineraries. I’m here to do the research, recommend destinations, book flights, hotels, transfers, travel protection and offer excursions. I’m able to relate to so many various ages and demographic through bonding over our joy of exploring the world and sharing about it on social media platforms.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Travel can be for everyone, despite age or income or disability. I’m here to help everyone who has a desire to see a different part of the world.
