Hidden Gems: Meet Maggie Page of Page Pilates

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Page.

Hi Maggie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Before opening Page Pilates, I taught seventh grade English for 13 years. I have always had a passion for teaching, and I love that I am still able to do exactly that. Creating a welcoming environment and making genuine connections are what I think made me successful in the classroom, and it is my goal to incorporate both in my Pilates studio. Along with my incredible team, we are making it happen!

I fell in love with mat Pilates in college, and I continued my practice at home from there. A few years ago, I was listening to a lifestyle podcast, and the host suggested joining a group class to level-up, so I did just that. I joined a reformer group class, and the rest was history. It was the first workout I had experienced that actually felt good to my body. I noticed that I didn’t find myself staring at the clock, counting down the minutes until class was over. I was hooked! It truly changed my life in the best ways possible, and I raved about reformer Pilates to everyone who would listen. I couldn’t believe the positive impact it had on me both physically and mentally. I loved the studio and everyone I met there, but I was driving 45 minutes one way for a 50 minute workout.

After a few years, I took a leap of faith. I found a great location for my own studio, and I began my training and journey as a Pilates instructor and studio owner. I wanted to provide my hometown and community with a place where they could experience all of the benefits Pilates offers. And from there, Page Pilates was born.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s kind of crazy, actually! Through this whole process, and other life experiences, I have learned that when you are on the right path, things really fall into place the way they’re supposed to happen. That’s not to say that the path has been completely seamless, but it still amazes me how a lot of the steps in the process came together better than I could have imagined. The biggest struggle was taking the leap to leave everything I knew behind and trying something completely new, but it was so worth it!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Page Pilates ?
Page Pilates is a reformer Pilates studio in Festus, with a second location coming to Farmington early next year. We offer reformer Pilates in a space that is inviting, and connection with our clients is prioritized. In the 4 months that we have been open, I have watched our clients transform in such incredible ways! Obviously, many people workout to look a certain way, but the changes I have seen in clients’ confidence, and the stories they share about Pilates changing their lives the same way it did mine stops me in my tracks. I still get chills when a client tells me about their Pilates victories; it is truly such a surreal experience.

I know reformer Pilates can look really intimidating, but the hardest part is signing up for the first class and trying something new. Most people leave saying it wasn’t nearly as complicated as they imagined it would be, and they usually find themselves hooked after their first or second class. If you’re still nervous, bring a friend with you for your first time. Starting is the hardest part!
