Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jennifer McCleary.
Hi Dr. Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, my name is Dr. Jennifer McCleary. I began my career here in St. Louis practicing chiropractic and acupuncture at Triad Sports & Family Chiropractic. This gave me the space to build my business acumen, grow a patient base, and dive deeper into my specialty as a sports and fitness focused chiropractor. Over the years I have created a habit of learning more in areas that interest me so as you can imagine, after 15 years of doing yoga I wanted to attend a 200-hour yoga teacher training program. The same thing happened once I was exposed to Reiki. I thought how amazing it felt and wanted to share that with others. Over time I grew a large network of other practitioners in a wide range of specialties and a deep appreciation for holistic health and common themes that lie within many different ancient healing practices. That eventually lead to the launch of my latest project, Flow State Holistic Health in the spring of 2025.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building Flow State has meant navigating logistics, unexpected obstacles, and the vulnerability of creating something new, but every challenge has brought insight. The greatest challenge was finding the right physical space for this new venture that would be accommodating for a range of health and wellness professionals. I searched for about a year before the right one came along here in downtown Clayton.
We’ve been impressed with Flow State Holistic Health, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Flow State Holistic Health is an integrative collaborative space that blends ancient healing practices with modern science. The goal was to create an intersection between western medicine and natural health. We are grounded by four core values, safety, connection, empowerment and growth. We have a warm, accessible, and intentionally designed environment so people truly feel at home. Our care focuses on restoring the body’s natural rhythm, calming the nervous system, improving movement, and giving people tools that expand their capacity for wellbeing. There are a long list of services but some of them include: chiropractic, acupuncture, therapeutic massage and other body work, energy work, naturopathic healthcare, sound healing, guided meditation, integrative health coaching, and more!
We meet people where they are, and we help them move forward with clarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of connection. Our goal is to be here for those who choose a holistic approach to health care and that understand this can be applied to the many stages of life. We see children all the way to older adults and often follow them as sports, jobs and hobbies change. We adjust our goals as individuals face major life events, illness, and injury.
I’m proud of the community we’re cultivating. I am proud that we have some incredible practitioners with a growth mindset and calling towards healing and empowerment in all in one space.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Flow State Holistic Health is continuing to evolve. We’re currently planning classes, workshops, and community gatherings for next year. I’m excited to welcome more practitioners into the space and continue building a community rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and shared growth. My vision is for Flow State Holistic Health to grow out of our current office and become one of many integrative collaborative health centers in this region to meet a growing demand for this kind of healthcare.
