Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Snipes.
Hi Nicole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I first started writing in 2006 when I became ill. Sitting around not able to do anything. I always wanted to write because I would make up these stories in my head when I was younger just for fun. But at the time, I was living the life of a street kid, gang banging. Just going in the wrong direction. Thinking I was too cool to be a writer. But as life progressed and I got older. God humbled me and took me down a humbling path with my lung collapsing in 2005 need chest tubes inserted, then again around the same time agin in 2006. Only this time they found a condition called Blebs on my lungs had damaged the top portion of my right lung so the removed the bad, stapled it closed and glued it to my chest cavity. Leaving me with a for of COPD. I won’t deny the fact that smoking also played a part in some of the damage but if you have ever had this addiction then you know it hard to quit. Anyway, I started writing this story that I called “Cocaine Girl at the time and I maybe wrote 4 Chapters before I started feeling better and got back to living life. Then was struck with another illnesses in 2007. Depression set in and writing was the last thing I wanted to do. Until I was moving in 2019 and found my manuscript. I read it and all kind of ideas came flooding through my mind. So I got to work even while dealing with illnesses and depression. I finished it. I let my family read it first because you know how you a person never thinks their work is good enough. Well they loved it. So I named it “Run It Up!” I joined some Book Club groups where I met another Author name Brandy White and she taught me so much about what need to be done. She is my Angel and I consider her a friend. I self published on Amazon in 2022. Then in 2023 I published, Run It Up – The TakeOver 2. And kept going to my 3rd book. Today I am working on my very first Movie Series that I plan to upload to YouTube and see how it does, if it does great. Then I reach for bigger platforms. So be on the lookout in 2026 for Hustler’Z Tv Series. My cast is complete, I’m just waiting for everyone to enjoy their holidays then we get down to business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have had a lot of doors closed in my face from people I would never have expected but God placed the right people in position in my life and now everything is flowing great! All Praise to God! I’m excited and can not wait until Production starts. The story is based right her in our city of St Louis with a lot of St Louis talent ready to show out!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I apecialize in creating stories turning them into book that I intend to captivate my audiences mind and keep them interested. In the near future I plan to take all 3 of my books and turn them into movie scripts for the big screen. I am also planning to attend LA Film School next year to Produce, Edit, and Film my own Movies. So yes, I will be writing and Producing. I can’t disclose the name of the company at this time but it’s something to make my Parents, Siblings an some of my Family proud.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
A prankster, I would often setup gadgets to scare my sister Janea and Brother/Cousin that would scare the heck out of them. Or I would make up these stories and have them believing me only minutes later for me to say, I’m just playing. And I would come up with some good stories. That’s how I knew I should be an Author. I was also quiet around groups of people. Now days they call it Social Anxiety. But I’ve gotten a whole lot better. When people smile at me I smile back and speak. I’ve often been told I have a beautiful spirit. Babies love and I coo back with them. If their parents aren’t standoffish. But them lil babies love me! And I just be taking in those smiles and faces of joy.!
