Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Lynn.
Hi Michael, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I spent 10 years in the auto industry from sales all the way up to running the stores as a General Sales Manager. I spent the majority of my career with a family owned dealership that allowed me to build and create procedures for the dealership to operate on. The dealership was very client focused, and not fixated on the dollar. I left and went to work for a corporate owned Mercedes dealership and while my income went up substantially, the money over people mentality just doesnt fit my belief system and I became very unhappy. I was sick and laying in bed and started watching youtube videos on buying real estate and saw and opportunity to transfer my sales skills while incorporating my passion for building businesses and helping people. One month later I was offered a higher position in the dealership and a half a million dollar a year pay, but instead of accepting I put in my notice and two weeks later I was unemployed. One day I got a message from an old friend to get coffee. Matt and I hadnt seen each other in a few years, so it was very out of the blue, but as we sat at coffee I find out he has switched professions to being a sales manager at a real estate investing company in St Louis. He offered to have me come out and work with them and learn my skills and if I wanted to at any point leave and go do my own thing I could. Over the next three months it became clear I had the skill set for this as I secured 5 deals in that time span. I was unaware of this, but the average time in the industry before your first deal is around 5-6 months. During this time I had joined a real estate mastermind called SUBTO. One day as I scrolled Facebook I saw a post from a guy stating that he was coming to St Louis and wanted to have coffees with anyone that was doing deals. Normally I ignore these posts, but for some reason I responded and a few days later I was having coffee with my future business partner Andrei. The month after we met we went to Ohio for a real estate business coaching program and when that was finished, we were partners. We launched Revolve Homebuyer on November 4, 2025 and just completed our first full year in business. In our first year Revolve Homebuyer did 41 home purchases and generated nearly half a million in gross revenue.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has been nothing smooth about this road. We started out the business on fire and allowed our egos get ahead of our knowledge of running a business. By month 5 we started to see a dip in production and by month 7 we were pretty much out of money. We made every mistake you could make from bad hires, to over spending on marketing, down to even our overall model of business. The company we hired for coaching led us down a very bad path and gave us false confidence about how were doing and we never questioned it. In June we decided to part ways with that company and joined another mastermind that led us to our recent business coaches who helped make tweaks that have turned the ship in the right direction.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Revolve Homebuyer specializes in helping individuals who are prioritize speed and ease of selling of market over the hassle that comes with a traditional sale. Our focus is client first and solving the problem they may have whether it be a foreclosure, a distressed property, and even those who just dont want to do the updates to their homes. We set ourself apart by being client focused and not money focused. We go above and beyond in every aspect from buying their home, helping them find their next residence, allowing them money upfront to help with issues they’re facing in life, and even reading other agreements they may enter into with other investors to ensure they are protected.
We believe in a consultative approach and not a sales approach. When a client invites us into their home, we go in with the intention of understanding their problem and presenting the solution that will be fit their needs, even if that solution is not us.
As a brand we are most proud of the lives we have impacted and the sticky situations we were able to help our clients with, when they needed us most.
The biggest thing we would like the readers to know is that while we are in business to make a profit, our true goal is to help people. This is again why we take the approach that we do and give them solutions that may not be us.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
If they know anyone that is facing a challenging situation from foreclosure, inherited property, homes that are too big to any longer maintain, or just looking for a quick and easy sale please send them our way.
