Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Conboy.
Hi Erin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a military child we moved a lot and so preserving memories became important to me. It all started with the wind-up cameras of the 90’s, to always toting a film camera around on vacations, then trying to pursue a dream of modeling as a teenager. While the modeling was short lived, it did help to understand both sides of the camera. In college I took photography and black room development courses while getting my associate’s in Travel and Tourism. Soon after my first child was born, I bought my first digital camera.
In 2013 I started taking photos for the Missouri Ballet and by 2019 I upgraded to two Canon EOS 6D Mark II cameras with multiple lenses, a Godox lighting system and am now I’m in my 6th year of professionally pursuing my life-long passion of a Licensed photography business!
I primarily shoot outdoors using natural light. I also shoot in home and in event spaces using my flash system. As an artist I’m open to your photography needs and I’m excited to create. I see everything in photo. I like to think I have a knack for capturing the moments in each individual shoot or event; really bringing posed portraits to life with candid shots and attention to detail. You will get more than what the average photographer will give in the amount of photos. I also pride myself in being responsive and timely with my turn around. Please take a look at my pricing on my website to see all that I offer. Follow me on Facebook and Instagram to see sneak peeks, albums and up coming events. Feel free to email, message or call me for further information and details. I really appreciate you supporting local artist and joining me on my journey. I can’t wait to capture you and yours! 📸
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning a business takes time and dedication. I do take pride in being organized and timely with my turn around. Every year I try to set new goals and implement them.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
While I shoot everything from families to weddings, high school seniors are my favorite subject. It’s such a special coming of age time in their lives! I have also been able to combine my two greatest passion, Music and Photography by photographing live music and music festivals. This past year I photographed Pickin on Picnic , Between the Trees and Sugar Creek music festivals as well as many bands at Saint Charles, Missouri’s , Red Fish Blue Fish. Being involved in the STL music community has been an exhilarating experience feeding my heart and soul.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Stay true to your artist style and what you love producing as an artist. Take the opportunities but be stern on pricing. This is how we put food on our family’s tables. Life isn’t always easy but it’s the only one we have. So love hard, go on the trips and start that business you always dreamt of!
