Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Drury.
Hi Paige, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
When I was 12 years old I was in a craft class taught by my grandma. I learned how to crochet, dabbled in embroidery, and most importantly, I learned how to sew. It was there that I learned my passion for creating beautiful things with my own hands. I also loved shopping!
One day, while shopping, my mom bought a headband and said, “I bet you could make these!” So we tried it out. Little did we know that my little side business would continue to grow and grow every year, eventually leading to opening our own boutique together.
It started out super small. Just making a few headbands with an old sewing machine in our basement, and selling them to friends and family. Then, I started selling on Facebook and at craft fairs. Customers started rolling in, I upgraded the sewing machine, and started making bracelets too! When I was in high school, it became my dream to open a shop with my mom one day. My plan was to graduate high school, go to college, get my business degree, and then open a boutique. To my surprise, that dream came true a lot sooner than I expected! One day, my mom saw a tiny shop go up for rent in Kimmswick, MO., and again, had an idea. She called me and said, “Paige, what if we just jump in and open up a shop together?” I was still in high school. I had just finished my Junior year. Everyone thought we were crazy, and so did we, but we jumped. We went and looked at it the next morning, and within a few hours it was ours!
We had no idea what we were doing, but we learned! I completed my senior year of high school while working in our boutique. It helped that I was homeschooled, but it was definitely tricky to manage. Lots of tears were shed, sometimes we wanted to give up, and I questioned a lot what we had gotten ourselves in to; but my mom was my rock and the Lord was my foundation. We didn’t give up, we pushed through. I’m so thankful for that. Our business is slowly growing. Growing in ways that I never even dreamed of, and I have grown too.
We still make our original headbands and bracelets, but now we also have the cutest clothes, inspirational mugs, beautiful devotions, trendy jewelry, the sweetest baby gifts, lovely perfumes & body oils, permanent jewelry, ear piercings, and more! It’s the place where cute things live! This business has been one of the biggest blessings in our lives, and we can’t wait to see the way it grows this year!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all! It has been such a hard and slow learning experience. We had no idea what we were doing or how to start a business, or how to run a business, or how to do retail, or how to keep a business going!
Learning marketing, finances, and budgeting have been the hardest part! But we are working hard every day to learn more and keep up.

We are a small town boutique in historic Kimmswick, Mo. We are a mother/daughter duo.
We are best known for Paige’s handmade bracelets.
We also have devotions, mugs, trendy clothing, gifts for all ages, permanent jewelry, and we now offer ear piercing too!
We are most proud of being a light on the hill. We seeing God doing beautiful work every time the doors are open. We love seeing customers light up when they read Bible verses on merchandise and get excited to see Christian items in a local store.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My (Paige) favorite childhood memory is when our family took a trip to Arizona. It’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. It was like looking at a perfect painting designed by our creator. It brought so many smiles to our faces and so much joy.
