Hi Ryan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have been involved in real estate in some capacity since 2010. I graduated from the University of Missouri (Mizzou) with an emphasis in Real Estate, an area that quickly became a strong interest of mine. During my time there, I also participated in a Warren Buffett investment class, which included a Q&A session and lunch with Mr. Buffett—an experience that further shaped my long-term interest in investing and real estate.
In 2010, I made my first real estate purchase, acquiring an eight-unit apartment building in The Grove neighborhood of St. Louis. Through that investment, I became increasingly involved in construction by rehabbing the units myself. Over time, this hands-on experience expanded into full-scale construction work, including ground-up development, full gut renovations, additions, and commercial projects.
Approximately five years ago, I partnered with my current business partner, which marked a significant turning point in the growth of the company. Together, we built Anzac Developments into what it is today. We now employ approximately 30 team members and handle a wide range of projects, from kitchen and bathroom renovations to large-scale developments. One of our current projects is a 20,000-square-foot development that includes a community center, wedding venue, and a private apartment for the client.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been an easy ride. When we were first getting the company off the ground, we focused heavily on property flips. The challenge with flips is that they require significant personal capital and are highly dependent on market conditions. As interest rates increased, we offloaded the majority of our flip projects and shifted our focus to the general contracting model, where the Anzac Developments team has truly excelled. I’m incredibly proud of the team members who have helped build Anzac Developments into what it is today.
