Meet Courtney Diaz of O Fallon IL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Diaz.

Hi Courtney, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Scott AFB with my two daughters in 2019. After retiring from the Air Force, I began a small family business centered on quality professional care for pets in our community. We are a family run, Veteran & woman home-based business proudly servings OFallon, Illinois and surrounding areas.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It is challenging competing with large pet care companies. We focus on personalized care to separate ourselves from other pet sitting services.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m Red Cross Pet First Aid Certified, a USDA Registered Pet Carrier, and hold specialized training in bloat, aggressive and anxious dogs. I have grooming training from Animal Behavioural College. I’m also Fear Free Certified, with numerous hours working with dog and cats, and a proud volunteer with the Belleville Humane Society supporting pets in need. These all help make our pet sitting, dog walking, grooming, and transportation services safe & reliable. What sets us apart from others is our small team, we get to know the pets, interact with them one on one regularly and build strong bonds of trust and affection.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I am happiest spending my day with pets and making their days more enjoyable. I love serving people who care about the safety and happiness of their fur-family.
