Today we’d like to introduce you to Curtis McCann.
Curtis, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began back in 2018 when I started my catering company called Catered By Curtis. With the success of my company and landing clients like Hoffmann Brothers , Williams + Associates , and Justine Petersen , I was able to open Juanita’s in Dutchtown.
After closing Juanita’s, I began to pivot outside of cooking into marketing and content creation, leading to the creation of (Eat, Drink, STL) a facebook group with over 35,000 members connecting foodies , tourists and business owners.
Fast forward to today and under the umbrella of “He Him Curtis” , this platform of mine has now grown to a consistent 2+ million views monthly , reposted by the likes of Krispy Krunchy Chicken , and Hot Box Cookies.
Through content creation I became an official taster for Blue Bell Ice Cream , and a proud METRO Saint Louis voice.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I think the biggest struggle was giving myself permission to abandon who I thought I would be , and ignoring the expectations set by others to step into alignment.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a food and lifestyle creator , that specializes in story telling relatability.
I’m most known for my blue bell ice cream collaboration, my fried crossaint obsession, and recently the fried rice tour of Saint Louis.
I’m most proud of the consistency that I’ve given content creation , and winning “Content Creator of The Year” 2x in STL
The thing that sets me apart is that my content is a genuine reflection of my likes and interests which has made it easy to maintain.
I’m a strong writer and you can sense my aura through my post , no artificial intelligence.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up , I was very reserved and uninterested in video games , and sports like the kids my age.
I always spent my time creating building sketches , because I always said I would
be an architect. I also played trumpet and violin and sang in choir.
