Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Waites.
Hi Bryan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up on a small town our of Pevely Missouri called Horine. With 6 brothers and sisters I learned to compete at a very early age. My mom and dad taught me that you treat people the way you want to be treated and things will work out fine. I was fortunate to be the starting catcher on my High School State Championship team in 1986. I attended Jefferson College earning a two-year degree in Computer Science. I then graduated from Southeast Missouri State in 1992 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. I began my business career right out of College Sept. 2nd, 1992, with Franklin Life Insurance Company as an Independent Agent and have been Independent for my entire career. I had a very humble beginning with a list of 100 names…a small makeup desk and a cordless phone. I basically called people and told them I had started my practice and would appreciate the opportunity to see if I could help them and if not, i would appreciate it if they would refer me to someone I could. I am the proud husband of Stephanie and the father/stepfather to Logan, Ali, Kelsie, Collin and Annie. For the past 33 years I have acquired 5 401k’s and over 1,257 clients. We pride ourselves in giving back to the community and have run a Charity Golf Tournament for Special Olympics for the past 27 years. After the addition of my daughter, Ali Dalton (Waites) 5 years ago we started holding Retirement Education Seminars and our practice has never been better. In our office is Heather, my Executive Assistant, Ali- Representative, Shelby Block-Representative and Kelsie Eisenbeis-Marketing and Social Media Specialist. I now consider myself a Retirement Planning Specialist and focus on Individuals that are 55 years of age and older. In 2025 Tarkenton Financial created a Mentorship Program for agents associated with their firm and I now mentor agents all over the country. With the help of my team, our office earned the #2 Overall ranking for Tarkenton Financial in 2025 with me being the #2 overall agent. I plan on working and serving others for the rest of my life. When you enjoy helping others as much as I do, it doesn’t feel like work.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
All businesses have struggles and there were many of times I felt like going to work for someone else however I am a competitor and I hate to lose. It wasn’t an option…

We are a TEAM.
We work on helping others as a group. What separates us from other firms is the fact that we have a Synergy Circle that is made up of other professionals in the areas of Mortgages, Taxes, Insurance, Legal and Investments that we work along with in order to put our clients in the best financial position possible.
I’m most proud of the fact that Waites Financial Services is a name in the community that stands for serving others.
