Today we’d like to introduce you to Randi Dunevant.
Hi Randi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up as the kid nobody quite knew what to do with. I moved schools every year until fifth grade, bullied, never the one with a best friend group, but somehow always the one people found. Not to hang out with or invite to do things, but to talk to. I’d be sitting in first period minding my own business and someone would just… start telling me the most random thing. Strangers in shoe stores would sit down next to me and twenty minutes later I knew their whole life story. I didn’t ask. They just came.
I thought that something was just off about me for a long time, I was different and I just felt social anxiety in places.
My journey really began when my grandmother Rita started visiting me in my dreams after she passed. My Grandma Rita was Lithuanian, said to be psychic, and reportedly levitated in her sleep. I didn’t know what to do with her visits, so I did what seemed reasonable and went and got a reading. The woman looked at me mid-session and asked why I wasn’t doing this myself. I’m sorry, me? She told me my ancestors were leading the way, that she saw me doing big things, and that I should to go to Mystic Valley, a metaphysical store off Manchester, and see what I found.
So I went. And what found me was a mentor who changed everything.
For the next five years I took every class, workshop, and training I could get my hands on. I sat in separate mediumship and intuitive development circles weekly, practiced constantly, and grew in ways I didn’t know I needed. I showed up. Every week. Slowly what had always felt like anxiety, started feeling like a purpose. My life transformed. As shadows cleared and confidence grew, information came through more clearly, and it became a business. Then animals started coming through and things shifted for me again.
And then suddenly, looking back, everything made sense.
Turns out the people randomly talking to me and the “anxiety” thing wasn’t weird. It was the whole point!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not.
When you suddenly have to come out of the psychic closet and say out loud “I see dead people,” it isn’t always the easiest conversation to have. You don’t know what beliefs people hold or whether it will change how they see you. Most people have been kind. Some have been quietly skeptical. Then there was the woman from my daughter’s preschool who burst into my tent mid-reading at a festival to ask me, “what made you go the other way?”
There’s a real stigma that still exists around this work. People hear psychic medium and their brain goes one of two directions, either I’m a fraud or I’m doing something spiritually dangerous. Neither is true. A medium connects to the other side to bring your loved ones’ energy through. That’s it. That’s the work. It comes from a place of love, healing, and service.
People talk of dark energies, but why would those tell me they are in heaven with God and Jesus, and that they are looking over you in this life? That has been my experience, every single time. What comes through comes through in love.
Now. I can’t guarantee a connection to a specific person. It’s whoever needs to come through to bring the most healing for your best and highest good. That part is not up to me. What IS up to me is translating what I receive as accurately as humanly possible, and that is where the real challenge lives.
What I do is essentially play charades through the veil in real time. I’m receiving information instantly, something I see, something I hear, something I feel, and I have to translate it for a complete stranger on the spot. I might describe someone as a little rough around the edges. That may just be Jim. I might see dark blonde. You might consider them a brunette.
Will my adjectives be your adjectives? That’s the question I carry into every single reading. It’s not always a perfect science. But when it lands , it lands, and there is nothing else like it in this world.
It’s still sometimes hard to lead with “Hi, I’m Randi and I’m a psychic medium.”
But it gets easier all the time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the heart of what I do is connection. I’m a psychic medium who connects to crossed over loved ones and brings their energy through for the people who are still here and still missing them. I also read Lenormand cards, which most people have never encountered. They come in expecting tarot and leave stunned by how specific and conversational Lenormand can get.
Then there are the horses. It started when a regular client’s horse kept coming through during her sessions saying he missed her. When my daughter began riding lessons shortly after, I realized I could hear the horses at the barn too. I researched animal communication, and put out a small advertisement, and someone invited me out to their barn. I did eight horses my first day on sheer nerve alone, I thought I would pass out walking in. Word got around, the local pony club invited me to present for the children, I told them I didn’t think I was qualified, and they insisted anyway. My daughter came with me for her first dose of mom is a little out there, and we even joined Pony Club for a year.
That unplanned leap is what I’m most proud of, no sitting, developing, strategizing, realizing the pattern and just going with it this time.
Most recently I did a paranormal investigation at an old Catholic school my kids Homeschool Co-Op is in, and connected with grandparents coming through on a spirit box. That may be my new obsession.
What sets me apart is integrity. I’m not afraid to shut a reading down if the connection isn’t there. This work is too sacred for anything less, and at the end of the day the most important thing for me is for you to realize that your loved ones are still with you!
