Today we’d like to introduce you to Emilee Fritsche.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Emilee Fritsche and I am the founder of Stay Good Studio. Art has always been an important part of my life, from creating independently to studying it in school, but I wanted to do more than make art for myself. I started Stay Good Studio to share my passion and knowledge with others and to use creativity as a way to inspire growth, learning, and connection in my community.
I finally decided to take the leap and started my business in November of 2025 even though it had been an idea since around 2023. It started with in home birthdays and small group events. I wanted to make the traveling aspect of my business known around our area, because I learned through teaching in the public school system, that some families and people didn’t have creative outlets at home.
I knew nothing about marketing and started absolutely new. Facebook groups helped with my growth as well as reaching out to community centers in all neighborhoods. There wasn’t an area I wouldn’t travel to and it is still the same to this day.
All ages are taught by me and the themes are endless. Present day, I have taught at large school events, clubs, community centers and homes in many neighborhoods.
Once I got moving with teaching for amazing groups, I thought about bringing art experiences to weddings and larger corporate events. That is when I added The Art Machine to my services. It is an art vending machine with custom stickers, prints and temporary tattoos all designed to a persons themes or interests. That too, is a traveling machine so all areas can experience how wonderful art keepsakes are.
2026 has been full of so many creative opportunities and I am still growing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
An obstacle I faced was marketing. I was an Art and Design major with art education experience. Reaching the community took many long days and nights of making my own social posts, editing posts, emailing and networking all on my own. I essentially was and still am my own social media and marketing team as well as the teacher and artist.
I am thankful to have my husband as my team member to help with larger groups as well as my sister.
I’ve found that taking time to brainstorm is so important. Im the type of person who has many ideas and I get very eager to just jump into things. Organizing has been key for me.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I have always been a creative and was raised in a home with my father being an artist. Many years were spent with me making physical art as I pursued it in school and then freelancing as well. In 2020 I really started brainstorming how I could turn Art and Design into a profession because something I always heard was the “Starving Artist” comment from peers and friends. I was determined to prove my area wrong.
In 2023 I was teaching art in public schools in the Wentzville school district while also working part time teaching art online. I was planning on starting my own art business for awhile.
What I currently specialize in is Art Education. I can paint, draw, work with mixed media and much more. This also goes for my own independent work because I do freelance projects as well. All the art in The Art Vending Machine is custom made by me for my clients.
Something I am most proud of would be the larger groups I have taught painting to. This year I have worked with groups of over 50 people. Past me would be so proud and excited for our current self. The final products of all of my students is inspiring and though many come to events to be inspired, I often find they are making an impact on me as well.
Something that set me apart is that I travel to anyone to teach art. There is not project or idea I will not attempt to learn for someone and I offer extremely customized art experiences. I do not like limiting myself and others. My studio I have created is fully mobile so I can travel and teach a variety of people in different areas.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be spending time with my grandfather. He was my best friend and truly could do no wrong in my book. He was a major support to all of my creative projects at a young age when influence and approval matter most.
He showed up to everything along with the majority of my family, but I spent most of my childhood being watched or hanging out at my grandparents house.
We’d go through and get my favorite foods after school, watch shows together and spend holidays together. Holidays were always my favorite. He knew how to make things special and so did my mother.
I don’t know if I have a specific memory, but my family as whole made my childhood something I long for again at times.
