Exploring Life & Business with Tanya Earls of Notary At YourDoor! LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Earls.

Hi Tanya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you for this opportunity! My name is Tanya R. Earls and my career began in the Education field 25+ years ago. I have worked very hard in my career, literally starting from the very bottom as an Early Childhood Teacher and working my way up the career ladder for over 25+ years to become an Area Trainer/Director in Early Childhood Education, a Director of Student Services, and now I am the Administrative Coordinator the Guidance Counseling Department at a local High School. I am very passionate about my position and this is my FAVORITE career move as of yet!

I have worked as a Director of Student Services for two local colleges Allied College and Everest College, providing social services resources to ensure college students would be successful while attending college. I served as an ADVOCATE for the students, especially young women who may have gone through some very serious challenges and trauma in their lives. Along the way, I was also given the AMAZING opportunity to work in the music/entertainment industry serving as a manager for local St. Louis artists as well as working for Radio One St. Louis in the Marketing/Advertisement arena.

In 2025 I was also given another amazing opportunity to make a difference with the youth in my community. I was sworn in as a Deputy Juvenile Officer (DJO) for St. Louis County Court, which is a specialized court officer who manages and advocates for minors involved in the justice system. Operating locally within Family Courts, officers focus on rehabilitating youth while ensuring community safety through intake screening, probation monitoring, and direct care.

Most recently in Spring 2026 I was named Vice President of Pattonville School District’s MNEA/PESP Union! It’s been such an exciting time to jump right in with the districts Support Staff and advocate for them. Our support staff is the HEART of our district and we could not effectively function on a daily basis without support staff such as Custodians, Administrative Assistants, Bus Drivers, Paraprofessionals and Maintenance.

I am a dedicated educator, union leader, and lifelong learner committed to supporting students, educators, and the community. I advocate for district SUPPORT STAFF, educators, promotes collaboration, and works to strengthen public education within the Pattonville School District.

I hold an Associates Degree In Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and a Master of Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

I am passionate about creating positive workplace cultures and empowering others through effective communication and collaboration. A few of her main focuses in this role is to help develop expertise in organizational development, employee relations, and ethical leadership.

I am honored to serve my fellow support staff and look forward to making a meaningful impact on the Pattonville community through my work with MNEA/PESP and beyond.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My career has not been a completely smooth road, but each challenge has helped me grow professionally. Throughout my career, I have balanced multiple responsibilities while adapting to new roles and increased leadership opportunities. Like many professionals, I have faced workplace challenges, changing expectations, and the need to continually learn new skills. These experiences strengthened my communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities, ultimately leading me to positions of greater responsibility, including serving as a guidance counseling coordinator and being elected Vice President of the Pattonville MNEA/PESP Union. Looking back, the obstacles I encountered have helped shape the professional I am today.
