Life & Work with Dejah Stroud of St Louis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dejah Stroud.

Hi Dejah , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
At the time I was 22-23 everybody was coming out of being locked down during COVID so many businesses were being started .. I was in the phase of omg ! Idk what I want to do in my life as far as a career almost panicking lol I was still working a regular job but I knew I wanted something more than just that and covid was kind of like an eye opener as far as having a steady income whos to say another lock down won’t happen . I kind of was already into doing my research into being an esthetician and I was getting more infatuated with lash extensions ironically an instructor was hosting class nearby and I think that was my sign . I was not a risk taker I did not step outside the box’s when it came to trying new things but something in me was saying go for it and 6 years later I built an amazing clientele and top tier work and absolutely have fell in love and became so passionate about what I do now .

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ups and downs are to be expected. My second year of Buisness was the worst .. I encouraged my clients to give feed back & just was not going the way I planned took that moment to go back to the drawing board to experiment with new and better products and luckily I had a handfull of clients who trusted me and saw my potential so that’s what kept me going

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a lash technician better know as “ Lash Aesthetics “ I am most proud of how i honestly took a leap of faith in something that I’ve became really great at but was so nervous to do at first lol . My works speaks for itself , I love that I have women older young of all ethnicities come to me and feel so comfortable and have the best experience after their service. Most known for my customizable work every client can feel like a lash set was specifically made for them

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Within the next 5-10 years Im hoping to start selling lash products to other local technicians. I’ve seen on other cities where they actually have walk in lash supply stores so that’s something I have yet to see in st.louis .
