Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellie Redders.
Hi Ellie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
The true spark for Ellie Redders Interiors came from a series of relocations across the greater St. Louis area. Moving several times exposed me to a diverse patchwork of communities, including Webster Groves, Sunset Hills, Clayton, and Wildwood, with each area boasting its own distinct architectural style and unique vibe. Instead of treating the moving process as a chore, I fell in love with buying, renovating, and selling our properties, viewing each one as a fresh design challenge. I spent years obsessively styling, reimagining, and curating our homes to perfectly match the energy of their surroundings. Witnessing this continuous transformation, my two long-time college friends eventually staged an intervention of the best kind. They pointed out that my passion had already evolved into a profession and gave me the vital encouragement I needed to stop treating it as a hobby, step out on my own, and officially launch the business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey to building Ellie Redders Interiors hasn’t always been a smooth road, as the firm’s foundations were forged through a masterclass in ultimate multitasking. Starting a business from the ground up is a massive undertaking on its own, but doing so while raising two energetic boys—then just ages 1 and 3—demanded an entirely different level of grit. Growth was fueled by countless long nights, sacrificed weekends, and a balancing act that tested every ounce of resolve. Every milestone achieved was paid for in coffee, determination, and the quiet hours after the kids went to bed. Looking back, those chaotic early days didn’t just build a design firm; they instilled a relentless work ethic and a deep empathy for how busy families actually live, proving that the most beautiful spaces are born from passion, resilience, and hard work.Just as the business found its footing, the world threw an entirely new set of obstacles our way with the arrival of COVID-19. Keeping a design and construction firm alive during supply chain meltdowns, global shutdowns, and unprecedented uncertainty required a masterclass in pivoting and sheer adaptability. But resilience is in our DNA, and we didn’t just survive—we grew. That determination was put to the ultimate test yet again when we took the massive leap to purchase our own 6,000 sq ft showroom in 2024.. Navigating the high-stakes process of renovating our own headquarters while simultaneously managing large-scale renovations for our active roster of clients was a circus act of coordination. It meant living through the exact dust, delays, and design decisions we guide our clients through every day, ultimately deepening our expertise and proving that no hurdle is too high for our team. I am proud of what I’ve built and my team who stands by me everyday!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Ellie Redders Interiors?

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, my life was a whirlwind of new zip codes, but I managed to turn every relocation into my own personal masterclass in design. Moving frequently exposed me to a constantly rotating portfolio of houses and unique architecture, which instantly sparked my obsession with spaces and how we live in them. Each new bedroom became a fresh canvas, teaching me early on how to curate a blank room and quickly transform it into a place that truly felt like home. When I wasn’t busy rearranging furniture or lost in the pages of a book, I was running the show as the self-appointed leader of our sibling trio. My two younger sisters were my captive audience as I enthusiastically orchestrated endless, highly structured games of school and house. That childhood blend of constant adaptability, creative styling, and bossing my sisters around turned out to be the perfect recipe for the storyteller and designer, business owner , and project manager I am today.
