Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronni Jay.
Hi Ronni, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started as a stand-up comedian in 2022 a month before turning 39. Within less than a year in comedy I produced and hosted my first sold out comedy show for mother’s day. I got to where I am by being professional and consistent.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When you’re working towards something you want the road never is easy. Sometimes people will fall off when bookings dry up but those moments push me to dig deep into my creative bag beyond the stage.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a stand-up comedian and owner of The Last Laugh Productions LLC. One things that set me apart from some is I’m not waiting with my hand out for an opportunity. Real hustlers don’t wait we create. I’m proud of my longevity and that I’m working on my third show (which I know will be spectacular). In addition to working on my third show I’ve also had the pleasure of performing at THE FUNNY IS FEMALE COMEDY FESTIVAL and GOOD VIBES COMEDY FESTIVAL. And speaking of comedy festivals I’ve been chosen to perform in the Black Comedy Festival in Kansas City.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
There is a diverse amount of talent here that includes comedy, poetry, music, fashion, etc.
The thing I like least is how divisive some artists can be instead of genuinely working together.
