Hi Spida, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I can assure that I got to where I am today by being consistent no matter what . Life is always going to play its cards and sometimes deal a hand that we have to work with under all circumstances. Adjusting and adapting to things when they become different knowing how to pivot in a moment where you need to move is important as well.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been up and down road it look fun until it ain’t fun. Being able to construct all of your ideas in your own space is very good but it can have some downsides. Sometimes you get too comfortable, easily get distracted, and many more reasons. I feel as if every artist has a period where they struggle to create or just find that drive that they once had. The bounce back from all of that determines everything though, Have to find a way to evade the block and lock in even on the days where you don’t want too sometimes the best product is made under pressure.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I do pretty much everything. Make graphics , record musical artists and mix the music as well , creating streetwear clothes , mostly anything that you see me produce or post is done by myself. So I don’t even know what you would call of that honestly I’d just say creative there’s no limits to art and expression and we as people have always expressed our emotions in very creative ways. I’m known mostly for my music and clothes my tags in my records are like ringtones. You may hear a “ Welcome to Saint Louis Fish and Chicken” or an “Purgatory” tag every other track. You won’t believe how many people come up to me and just blurt out those tags in public, and I genuinely do appreciate it because that means the branding is working
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I believe the most effective mentor is someone who is actively trying and learning on their own. Everyone learns at their own pace, and attempting and failing is more enlightening than receiving guidance from a mentor, at least in my opinion. Trial and error helps you identify the flaws in your patterns or the missing elements. While learning from a mentor is beneficial, how long will you remain a student instead of becoming a master on your own? I’m not suggesting that you should disregard valuable information from someone with extensive experience because knowledge is power. The goal is to take bits of information from masters and make them relevant to your own situation.
