Hi Maria, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey in the beauty industry began in 2015 with a passion for helping people feel confident and beautiful. Even before I became licensed, I knew this was the career I wanted to build. I spent those early years learning, growing, and preparing myself for what would become my life’s work.
In 2018, I became a licensed manicurist, turning my passion into a profession. As my career evolved, I realized I wanted to expand my knowledge beyond nails, so in 2023 I earned my esthetician license as well as my instructor licenses. Becoming an educator gave me the opportunity to not only provide services, but also mentor and inspire the next generation of beauty professionals.
Today, I proudly serve as a manicurist, esthetician, instructor, and owner of Tha Nail Pharmacy. My mission is to combine education with exceptional client care, helping people look and feel their best while emphasizing the importance of healthy skin and nails.
Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to open my own beauty school, where I can continue educating future professionals and creating opportunities within the beauty industry. Every step of my journey has reinforced my passion, and I’m excited to continue making a positive impact—one client and one student at a time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape the professional and person I am today. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced setbacks, moments of self-doubt, and the pressure of balancing work, family, and personal responsibilities while continuing to invest in my education and career.
Building a business from the ground up takes patience, resilience, and consistency. There were times when I questioned whether I was on the right path, but I refused to give up. Instead, I used every obstacle as motivation to learn, grow, and become stronger.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success isn’t about avoiding challenges—it’s about how you respond to them. Every setback has taught me something valuable, and those experiences have made me a better educator, beauty professional, and business owner. Looking back, I’m grateful for the journey because it has strengthened my purpose and reinforced my commitment to helping others succeed.

Since starting my journey in 2015, my mission has always been to help clients look and feel their best while educating them on the importance of healthy skin and nails. I believe beauty should never come at the expense of health, which is why every service is performed with professionalism, safety, and personalized care.
We specialize in nail care, advanced skincare treatments, waxing, brows, and beauty education. From natural nail services and custom nail enhancements to facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, microneedling, and full-body waxing, our goal is to provide results-driven services tailored to each client’s individual needs.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
If I had to choose one quality that has contributed most to my success, it would be resilience. Building a career and business isn’t always easy, and there have been obstacles, setbacks, and moments that tested my confidence. However, I’ve learned that success isn’t about avoiding challenges—it’s about continuing to move forward despite them.
Resilience has allowed me to embrace change, continue learning, and constantly improve both personally and professionally. Whether it’s earning additional licenses, expanding my services, or stepping into the role of educator, I’ve always believed there’s room to grow.
I also believe success comes from leading with integrity and genuinely caring about the people you serve. My clients and students trust me because they know I’m committed to providing quality care, honest education, and an experience that empowers them. That trust is something I never take for granted, and it’s one of the greatest measures of success to me.
