Hi DominiQue, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had an interest in the beauty industry. When I first discovered eyelash extensions, they weren’t nearly as popular as they are today, and not many people knew about them. After getting my own lashes done for the first time, I completely fell in love with the process, the artistry, and the confidence they gave me. That’s when I knew I wanted to learn how to do them myself.
My mom and dad believed in me from the very beginning and invested in my first training and supplies. Their support gave me the opportunity to turn my passion into a business, and that’s where The Lash Lab began.
Building a business hasn’t always been easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve experienced slow seasons, moments of self-doubt, and the challenge of balancing life while growing something I truly believe in. Those experiences taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of staying consistent, even when progress isn’t immediate.
The Lash Lab is about so much more than lashes. It’s about creating a space where women can relax, feel cared for, and leave feeling more confident than when they walked in. Some of my favorite moments are the conversations I have with my clients and seeing their faces light up after looking in the mirror. Those moments remind me why I started.
Over the years, I’ve also had the opportunity to mentor aspiring lash artists and share the knowledge I’ve gained through my own experiences. Watching others grow in their confidence and skills has become just as rewarding as serving my clients.
Today, I’m continuing to grow The Lash Lab by refining my craft, expanding my education, and finding new ways to serve my community. My goal has always been to build more than a beauty business—I want to build a brand that empowers women to feel beautiful, confident, and capable.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, one of my biggest challenges has been staying consistent through slow seasons and the uncertainty that can come with entrepreneurship. There have been times when I questioned myself, wondered if I was doing enough, or had to adjust my marketing and business strategies to continue growing.
Another challenge has been keeping up with an industry that is constantly evolving. Beauty trends, techniques, and client expectations are always changing, so I’ve made it a priority to continue investing in education and improving my skills. I believe that if you’re not growing, you’re falling behind.
I’ve also learned that success doesn’t happen overnight. Building a loyal clientele takes time, patience, and a genuine commitment to providing an exceptional experience. Every obstacle has taught me something valuable and made me a stronger business owner.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every challenge because they’ve helped shape The Lash Lab into what it is today. They’ve taught me resilience, strengthened my confidence, and reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.

The Lash Lab is a luxury eyelash extension studio dedicated to helping women look and feel their best. I chose the name The Lash Lab because I wanted it to reflect creativity, precision, and the artistry behind every lash set. Just like a lab is a place where things are carefully created and perfected, every set of lashes is customized to fit each client’s unique features, lifestyle, and desired look.
For the past nine years, I’ve specialized in creating customized lash sets that enhance each client’s natural beauty while prioritizing the health of their natural lashes. Every client is different, so I take the time to create a look that complements their eye shape and personal style rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
What sets The Lash Lab apart is the experience. From the moment clients walk through the door, I want them to feel relaxed, welcomed, and cared for. My goal is for every appointment to be more than a beauty service—it’s a chance to unwind, recharge, and leave feeling more confident than when they arrived.
One thing I’m especially proud of is my client retention. Many of my clients have trusted me with their lashes for years, and I believe that speaks to the quality of my work, my consistency, and the relationships I’ve built. Their loyalty is something I never take for granted.
I’m also passionate about education. In addition to providing lash services, I offer one-on-one training for aspiring lash artists because I love helping other women develop a skill that can open doors to entrepreneurship and financial independence.
Above all, I’m incredibly proud of the brand I’ve built. The Lash Lab represents professionalism, quality, and genuine care. My goal has never been to simply apply lashes—it’s to help every client feel beautiful, confident, and empowered. As I continue to grow, I look forward to expanding The Lash Lab while staying true to the personalized experience and high standards that have been the foundation of my business since day one.
What’s next?
My vision for The Lash Lab is much bigger than where it is today. In the future, I plan to open a storefront that serves as both a luxury lash studio and a one-stop shop for lash artists. I want to create a space where clients can receive exceptional services while also giving aspiring and established lash artists access to quality education and products.
One of my biggest goals is to host in-house training sessions where I can mentor future lash artists and help them build successful careers of their own. I also hope to grow my team by hiring talented lash artists who share my passion for providing an exceptional client experience.
Another dream of mine is to launch my own line of lash products and supplies. I know firsthand how frustrating it can be when you need products immediately and have to wait days for shipping. I want The Lash Lab to become a trusted local resource where lash artists can stop by and purchase high-quality supplies when they need them, while also supporting a fellow beauty professional.
Ultimately, I want The Lash Lab to become more than a lash studio. I want it to be a place where beauty professionals can learn, shop, grow, and feel supported, while continuing to provide my clients with the personalized service and quality they’ve come to expect. I’m excited to continue expanding the brand and seeing where this journey takes me.
