Check Out Miranda & Josh O’Haleck’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Miranda & Josh O’Haleck.

Hi Miranda & Josh, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2022 Josh was adamant on purchasing a 3D printer to have for fun. In 2023 we started making custom orders for friends and family, and also had our first few vendor events. We created a Facebook page and reached out to a few stores to see about selling our prints. The concept in vendor stores was still pretty new, and we were one of the first in the area to really touch the market. The first store we started selling in was Train Town Treasures in DeSoto, quickly followed by Main Street Creations in Festus.

Over the past 4 years we have grown like crazy and now sell in 6 shops throughout the area, and participate in vendor events/farmer’s markets nearly every weekend of the year. We currently have 16 3D printers running nearly constantly to keep up with demand. Our schedule for the year is always available on our Facebook page so people know where they can find us.

We truly believe in the power of kindness and feel that our goal of being genuine and kind with people has been the backbone to our success.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We honestly have had an amazing run so far. Our only struggles we maintain are trying to “separate” ourselves from everyone else who does 3D printing. We want to make sure we stand out, and that people remember us and seek us out at events- which we have been successful at doing.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
MJ Print Co is really just a “side business” that has grown into a near 2nd full-time job for us both. Josh works as a professional drywall/painter, and Miranda works in governmental finance. Nearly all of our free time from our “regular” jobs is spent on our small business. We strive to really stand out from others by giving the most variety. We always joke that people can easily find us at events, because we are the most colorful booth they’ll see.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I (Miranda) was born and raised in Festus, so obviously this area has always been my home. I’ve always loved the community not only of Festus but the surrounding cities as well. I have many great memories of this area that make me smile on a daily basis- having grown up here also has given us a great head start when it came to starting our business.

Starting this business and being able to interact with a variety of people has been one of the highlights of this whole adventure.
