Today we’d like to introduce you to Correna Hollingsworth.
Hi Correna , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Bare Esthetics was built from my passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin. I became a licensed esthetician because I loved the idea of combining skincare, beauty, and meaningful connections with my clients. What started as a dream has grown into a business I’ve proudly owned for over five years.
Throughout my journey, I’ve continued to invest in education, refine my skills, and create an experience where every client feels welcomed, cared for, and comfortable. My goal has always been to provide personalized treatments that deliver real results while giving my clients a chance to relax and recharge.
As a business owner and mom of twins, I’ve learned the importance of balance, perseverance, and showing up for the people who trust me. Today, Bare Esthetics is more than just a skincare studio it’s a place where clients can feel confident, empowered, and genuinely cared for. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported my journey, and I’m excited to continue growing while helping others look and feel their best.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape the business I have today. Like many entrepreneurs, I started with the challenge of building a loyal client base and earning trust in a competitive industry. There were seasons where I questioned myself, invested back into my business instead of paying myself, and had to learn every aspect of running a business through trial and error.
One of the biggest challenges came when I became a mom to twins. Learning to balance motherhood with entrepreneurship completely changed my perspective. I had to become more intentional with my time, set healthy boundaries, and learn that I couldn’t do everything on my own. While it hasn’t always been easy, those experiences have made me a stronger business owner and have reminded me why creating flexibility and doing work I love is so important.
Looking back, I’m grateful for the obstacles because they’ve taught me resilience, patience, and the value of continuing to grow. Every challenge has made Bare Esthetics a more authentic reflection of who I am and how I want my clients to feel when they walk through my doors.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As the owner of Bare Esthetics, I specialize in customized skincare treatments that focus on both healthy skin and helping my clients feel confident in themselves. I offer personalized facials, advanced skincare treatments, brow laminations, lash lifts, and professional makeup services, always tailoring each experience to my client’s unique goals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built over the years. Many of my clients have been with me for years, and watching their confidence grow alongside improvements in their skin is incredibly rewarding. I strive to create an environment where clients can relax, feel heard, and leave feeling like the best version of themselves.
I believe what sets me apart is the experience I provide. My clients aren’t just coming in for a treatment they’re receiving education, honest recommendations, and care from someone who truly wants the best for them. I continue to invest in ongoing education so I can offer the latest techniques and treatments while maintaining a personalized approach. My goal has always been to create a space where people feel comfortable, cared for, and confident, and that’s what continues to inspire me every day
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that networking is about building genuine relationships, not just making business connections. Some of my best opportunities have come from simply supporting other local businesses, collaborating with professionals in the beauty industry, and showing up consistently in my community. You never know where one conversation or connection can lead.
As for finding a mentor, I don’t think it always has to be one specific person. I’ve learned something from every esthetician, educator, and entrepreneur I’ve met. Staying curious, asking questions, investing in continuing education, and being open to feedback have all helped me grow both personally and professionally.
My biggest piece of advice is to stay authentic. Focus on serving people well, building trust, and creating real connections. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but consistency, kindness, and a willingness to keep learning will open more doors than you expect.
