Arte Rojo STL was born from my lifelong passion for Mexican folk art and my desire to share the beauty, history, and cultural richness of Mexico with our community in the United States.
My journey began in Mexico, where I had the privilege of working in museums and cultural institutions. Those experiences allowed me to learn directly from artisans, curators, and cultural leaders, and gave me a deep appreciation for the stories behind every handmade piece. I discovered that folk art is much more than decoration. It is a reflection of our identity, traditions, and the creativity that has been passed down through generations.
After moving to the United States, I wanted to create a space where these traditions could continue to thrive. That dream became Arte Rojo STL. Today, we work with talented Mexican artisans to bring authentic, handcrafted pieces to our community while helping preserve traditional craftsmanship and supporting the families who keep these artistic traditions alive.
For me, Arte Rojo STL is not just a business. It is a way to build cultural bridges, celebrate our heritage, and connect people through the beauty and meaning of Mexican folk art.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, one of the biggest challenges was simply knowing where to begin. Learning the legal requirements, completing all the necessary paperwork, and understanding how to build a business from the ground up took time, patience, and determination.
Another important challenge was finding and leasing the right retail space while making sure the business could remain financially sustainable. In addition to running the store, we are constantly on the move, participating in farmers markets, art fairs, and cultural festivals to connect with our community and introduce more people to Mexican folk art. Traveling, setting up, and managing events while operating a small business is rewarding, but it is not always easy.
Despite these challenges, every step has reinforced my commitment to supporting Mexican artisans and sharing the beauty of our culture. Each obstacle has been an opportunity to learn, grow, and continue building Arte Rojo STL with passion and purpose.

My work is centered around preserving culture, supporting community, and creating meaningful connections. Through Arte Rojo STL, I specialize in authentic Mexican folk art and handcrafted pieces made by talented artisans from different regions of Mexico. Every piece we offer carries a story, a tradition, and the hands of the people who created it.
I am also the founder of Floreverandever, where I design botanical jewelry made with real preserved flowers. Each piece is handcrafted and created to celebrate life’s most meaningful moments while preserving the natural beauty of flowers in a timeless way.
Beyond my businesses, I host the podcast En Contacto con Leticia, where I interview community leaders, entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, and experts on topics that matter to the Latino community, including civic engagement, education, immigration, health, culture, and personal growth. My goal is to inform, inspire, and empower people by creating conversations that make a positive impact.
One of the projects I am most proud of is organizing Fiestas Patrias, an annual celebration of Mexican Independence that brings together families, businesses, artists, and community leaders. It is more than an event. It is an opportunity to celebrate our heritage, strengthen community ties, and showcase the richness of Mexican culture through music, art, dance, and traditions.
What sets me apart is that everything I do is connected by the same purpose. Whether I am promoting Mexican artisans, designing botanical jewelry, hosting conversations that educate and inspire, or organizing cultural events, my mission is to preserve culture, create opportunities for others, and build bridges between communities. I believe that art, culture, and meaningful dialogue have the power to bring people together and create lasting positive change.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Absolutely. I believe that learning is a lifelong journey, and I am always looking for inspiration from different sources. I enjoy reading books about leadership, entrepreneurship, personal growth, and creativity because they challenge me to think differently and continue growing both personally and professionally.
I also listen to podcasts and follow organizations and creators that focus on small business development, marketing, cultural preservation, and community leadership. These resources help me discover new ideas and stay connected with trends while remaining true to my mission.
Beyond books and podcasts, one of my greatest sources of inspiration comes from the artisans I work with. Their creativity, resilience, and dedication to preserving traditions remind me every day why I do this work. I also draw strength from my faith, my family, and the incredible people I meet through my businesses, community work, and my podcast En Contacto con Leticia. Every conversation and every story I hear motivates me to keep learning, creating, and serving others.
