Today we’d like to introduce you to Charnea Davis.
Hi Charnea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Nourish was created from a place I’ve always associated with love: food.
Some of my earliest memories involve food. From sitting on the counter stirring Kool-Aid, to standing on a chair so I could hover over the stove and cook myself some eggs, food has always been a part of my life. It wasn’t just something we ate—it was something that brought people together.
Food was at the center of so many family functions, celebrations, Sunday dinners, conversations, laughter, and memories. When I think about food, I think about community, unity, love, laughter, and connection. I think about the way a meal can make people feel welcome, create a moment between strangers, or bring a family back to the same table.
As I got older, I began to realize that my relationship with food was about much more than cooking. I started thinking about the way food affects us mentally, physically, and emotionally and how what we consume can become a form of support—or something that slowly works against us.
That realization is where the deeper meaning behind Nourish began.
I didn’t want to create another food business that was simply about selling meals. I wanted to create something that reminded people that food is life support. It nourishes us, connects us, creates experiences, and has the power to become part of the way we care for ourselves and the people around us.
Nourish started with my personal love of food and community, but it has slowly grown into something much bigger. Through catering, events, recipes, products, and conversations around food and fitness, I’m creating a brand centered around finding ways to nourish the whole person—not just satisfy hunger.
For me, Nourish is about bringing people back to the table while also encouraging them to think about what they’re putting into their bodies, how they’re moving their bodies, and how they’re caring for themselves.
My goal is for Nourish to become more than a business. I want it to become a movement—a reminder that we deserve to be nourished mentally, physically, and emotionally.
And honestly, I think that’s why the name Nourish fits so perfectly. Because everything I’ve experienced with food—from those childhood moments in the kitchen to creating meals for my community—has always come back to one thing:
How do we nourish ourselves, and how do we nourish each other?
That’s the heart of Nourish by Charnea.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, absolutely not! When you’re growing a food business people are either going to love it or hate it! People are more picky about their food more than anything! One bad dish or one bad food experience can turn 10 people away just from 1 word of mouth. Since I’m growing a more nutritious way of eating people tend to turn their heads away from “healthier” foods not knowing the longevity it carries. I still strive to serve food that taste good, look good and that will nourish the body.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Nourish by Charnea is a food, wellness, and community-centered brand built around one simple belief: we deserve to be nourished—not just fed.
At its foundation, Nourish is a food and catering business offering private catering, pop-ups, community events, curated food experiences, recipes, and specialty products. But the vision for Nourish goes far beyond putting a plate of food in someone’s hands.
I created Nourish because I believe food has always been one of the most powerful ways we connect with one another. A good meal can bring people together, create memories, start conversations, and make people feel at home. I wanted to take that same feeling of love and community that I experienced growing up and turn it into something people could experience through my brand.
What sets Nourish apart is the meaning behind the food. We’re intentional about creating experiences that make people think about food differently—not just as something that satisfies hunger, but as something that can support us mentally, physically, and emotionally. That philosophy is what led me to describe food as “life support.”
We specialize in creating flavorful, comforting food while bringing creativity and personality into the experience. From catering and pop-up meals to specialty dishes, community events, recipes, and future Nourish products, I want everything connected to the brand to feel like an experience rather than simply a transaction.
I’m especially proud of the fact that Nourish has grown from an idea rooted in my personal relationship with food into a brand with a much bigger vision. What started with my love of cooking and bringing people together is becoming a movement centered around food, fitness, wellness, community, and learning how to take better care of ourselves.
I want readers to know that Nourish is still growing—and that’s part of the beauty of it. There are so many layers to what I envision for this brand: catering, events, recipes, cookbooks, specialty products, wellness and fitness conversations, and eventually creating spaces where people can come together around food and community.
At the end of the day, Nourish by Charnea is about more than food. It’s about how we nourish ourselves, how we nourish the people around us, and how we create a healthier, more connected community—one meal, one conversation, and one experience at a time.
We’re not just here to feed you. We’re here to remind you to Nourish.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I personally feel I grew up on the quieter side of life. I didn’t talk much but when I did speak it held knowledge or value.
I was always observing my surroundings and people
I loved the peace of mind I had while creating (coloring or painting) , dancing and singing or even playing my videos games. I was also very family oriented. I loved hanging out with my siblings and cousins at my grandma house
