Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Belmont.
Hi Andrew, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Belmont Party Rentals started in 2006 and was operated out of the garage of Paul Belmont. With a focus on customer service above all else, we now have a strong client base and an 11,000 square foot warehouse. We offer products from tables and chairs to catering equipment ranging from plates and flatware to plate warmers and chafing dishes. With a significant setback in 2020, we are excited about the future and are working hard to fulfill our customer’s orders.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like all businesses, it has had its ups and downs. With such a small operation in the beginning, we were constantly struggling with the effects of a small warehouse (garage to storage banks to a couple of bays in Maplewood). Family businesses can get stressful and for the most part, my dad and I get along quite well. Some of the challenges are when you get so busy you don’t know how you will get everything done and then so slow, you think you might not make payroll. As we have been purchasing more equipment, it has allowed us to be more flexible with clients and has saved tremendous time from sub-renting equipment.
We’ve been impressed with Belmont Party Rentals, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We specialize in different events throughout St. Louis. We work a lot with country clubs, businesses, and caterers to help them plan and put on events.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
I learn way more from failures than success.
