Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Crile.
Hi Sara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story really begins way back at my own birth. I am so grateful for the holistic approach my mom took as she brought me into this world and continued to teach me throughout my life. With that solid foundation and minimal body burden she gifted me, I began adulthood with a vision to remain as toxin-free as possible. As I started my own family getting married at age 20, my husband and I worked together to balance the real world and a holistic approach to life. Under the care of a midwife, chiropractor, and team of medical doctors due to complications, we brought two healthy and holistic children of our own into the world. As life progressed and we were busy growing our own food and crafting our own personal care products, one thing really stood out to me. When I wanted to find clean and safe products from the store, they were either “greenwashed” and not truly safe, or they were safe but didn’t perform any better than what I was making on my own. I craved that option of being able to purchase products from a company who I could truly trust. I wanted to find a brand who was doing the same research I was doing on ingredient and packaging safety. I needed to find a community as passionate about toxin-free living and education as I was. In 2018, I began the most empowering part of my holistic journey! On August 1, I stepped into the Crunchi world hoping to provide a safe option of skincare and makeup for my family at a discount. What I didn’t realize was what I was trying to do on my own was about to become so much easier! Crunchi brought me the safe products that I no longer wanted to have to make on my own, a community of like-minded people who share my passions in so many ways, a meaningful income allowing me to stay at home full time to focus on homeschooling our kids and managing our homestead, an expanding team who bring me incredible joy to walk alongside them on their own personal and business journeys, and the resources and ability to share this mission with a growing wellness community I have created with members that span across the US.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The struggles that have come into play during my journey have been from finding that balance of connecting conventional life to a more holistic life. People aren’t always welcoming and kind to new ideas or different lifestyles. Starting my wellness community has helped me find a network who varies so greatly, yet comes together in one way or another. We are all on this journey of life together, and my true hope is for others to have an open mind and the ability to have meaningful discussions without defensiveness.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a Crunchi Advocate, I am dedicated to educating others about the dangers of toxins while providing safe alternatives to consumers. Being environmentally conscious, I seek knowledge, become empowered, and help to transform lifestyles. Education, integrity, service, credibility, and quality are some of the qualities that set me apart. From my makeup to my Muck boots, I help busy people put the “steady” into homesteading by exploring sensible ways to live a clean and farm-inspired life with a side of faith.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
The clean lifestyle movement is expected to widely expand in the next few years! Many people are becoming aware of toxic ingredients and their effects on our bodies, they are reading labels now more than ever, and they are ready to start making changes to their lifestyles to lower their overall body burden, which can be defined as the total amount of chemicals and pollutants that are present in your body at any given time. These chemicals come from our environment, the air we breathe, the food and drinks we consume, and the products we apply to our bodies. Long-term exposure can lead to higher rates of disease and illness. Reducing your body burden can significantly increase your chances of living a healthier lifestyle. Health promotion and disease prevention are the name of the game, which is helping to expand this industry!
