Inspiring Conversations with Misha Marshall of The Sweet Suite by MJM

Today we’d like to introduce you to Misha Marshall.

Hi Misha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always loved to cook. Having a family that knows how to cook on both sides is an added plus. I started The Sweet Suite by MJM in 2016 making banana puddings in different flavors. The main custard base is a family recipe but I added my own twist to it.

From there we added lemonades, salads, dips and other dishes. Now we’re mostly making sweet treats. I love it all and I love to make my customers happy!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The pandemic has made it somewhat easier because we can offer contactless pickups. It also has created challenges because we have to limit some of the things we would normally do. I’m grateful to still be able to serve our customers.

The Sweet Suite by MJM is a Bistro Foodtique that specializes in delectable desserts and foods. We offer Banana Puddings, Cupcakes, Fresh Salads, Soups, Chocolate Covered Strawberries & More.

What sets us apart from others is that we make our treats with love and put our customers first. My mom has always said, “Never go into a kitchen angry, it will make your food taste horrible.” Not sure how true that is but, believe it. I always give my customers an experience that they can’t help but want to order more things. It’s about making them happy.

What I’m most proud of brand wise is taking the step to actually share what I do with others. I am kind to all of my customers and that’s what brings them back every time. Being kind to people doesn’t mean weak or incompetent. It just means that I actually care that you get what you desire for your event or personal order. That’s important to me. My customers become my family. Some of my customers have shared their experiences with other companies and they haven’t always been pleasant. There are a lot of businesses that don’t possess a culture of being kind and that’s unfortunate. You’re getting Sweets with a Smile over here.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I often have very large orders and I can’t do it alone! My family always steps in and helps me get the job done. Whether we have to assemble boxes or help me get the small details done, my family is always there. I also have to shout out my girl Ash of the Berry Patch! She has definitely helped me step out of my comfort zone as a small business owner and made me push forward with my treats. I am totally grateful for her as well! No one can do it alone. And as small business owners, we have to remember that it’s okay to ask for help.
