Exploring Life & Business with Eboni Robinson of Ebby Slayed the Day

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eboni Robinson.

Hi Eboni, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Honestly, hair wasn’t even the passion for me at first. In high school my mom pushed me to do Cosmetology school while I had a chance, just to have something to fall back on in case pharmacy or automotive didn’t work out. I really wanted my Doctorates in Pharmacy, but to achieve my goal I knew I couldn’t work full time and go to pharmacy school. So, I made the decision to start taking hair more seriously so that I could work for myself and make my own schedule for pharmacy school. I started doing hair late hours after work and on weekends to make extra money; but as I became more in tune with hair again, it slowly became my love! Once I began to learn hair all over again it truly became my first love. I made my mind up that I’d take it to another level with wanting to not only do hair but help heal damaged hair and severe scalp conditions. Now I love what I do with a true passion at heart.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a long journey with me, my brand, and my craft. I’ve took so many losses in my business to get where I am today. I’ve changed my name multiple times and my brand, but I’ve always knew it’ll be worth it. Like honestly from doing hair from my kitchen to doing it at the shop, it’s been scary stepping out on faith but I knew I could do it.

We’ve been impressed with Ebby Slayed the Day, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in natural hair and growing hair. I’m mainly known for my protective styles, silk presses, and growing hands. I live by my brand name, not only I slay my clients but I care for their real hair health. What sets me apart from other stylists is that I’m a stylist who cares about your mental and physical. I love to not only make you look good but make you feel good as well. I definitely take care of those who take care of me. I offer organic hair and scalp treatments for my clients as well as protective styles to slay! My brand is definitely self-explanatory and I will get the job done.

What does success mean to you?
Success is a journey of nonstop completion, it’s a goal-driven ambition that never stops growing. You can never be “too” successful. It’s definitely a learning journey where you never stop growing to be a better you.
