Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Gladney.
Hi Diana, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey like most Americans and I worked in the financial services industry for about 10 years. I set goals for myself in possibly continuing to pursue collegiate educational experience, goals for elevation in my job, and what the future would look like for myself.
The problem came into play when the company went from a hiring freeze, regular financial quarterly declines and more and more opportunities began to slow down and cease and I leveraged that time by diving more into my work.
Shortly after a position change and some small advancements I made in my position at work and moving to a new apartment I started having the most incredible pains I’ve ever experienced. This pain became a daily and regular event that never ceased and continued for 16 months where no doctor could diagnose what was going on. This led to emergency surgery.
Fast forward to returning to work a month later still recovering slowly from massive surgery two major shifts happened, I woke from that surgery being told I had almost died, and secondly learning I’d battle a debilitating disease.
It was returning back to work plagued with this experience and the thoughts of what would my life become if I had not survived and actually had passed that I started to take identify my purpose in life and purposeful work with a daily obsession that led me to the first business coach that led me to video.
Fast forward, this uncovered a passion and the purposeful work I desired in not only video and content marketing but helping entrepreneurs share their vision using video and leveraging YouTube to amplify their business and their brand.
It’s been in pursuing that mission that I was able to quit my full-time job, thrive during the pandemic, and start living on purpose in my purpose.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not.
The road to get here has been a series of challenges and accomplishments and a lot of prayers, personal development, and incredible work to get here and even past where I am now to my future aspirations over the next several years.
There were challenges working full-time and self-educating myself through courses, coaches, training, and as an introvert learning to get comfortable with being on and in front of the camera.
All of this while still battling daily stage 4 endometriosis and a bunch of hellish issues that were a constant challenge from working, not making enough or even good money at my job, and still maintaining the drive to purpose my purpose after clocking out.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a video marketing strategist, keynote speaker, and YouTube expert helping entrepreneurs simplify the video content creation process to amplify their brand by leveraging video on YouTube.
I have worked and partnered with brands like Google, E.T. The Hip-Hop Preacher, Adobe, Social Media Examiner, TubeBuddy, Ecamm Network, and many more in doing this.
When I’m working with clients I help assess where they are and help simplify the technical aspects of learning to use their camera equipment and strategies to implement for growth and engagement on YouTube.
The main platform I can be found on is YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and LinkedIn with YouTube as our primary platform for education but we also sell and host courses on our website and membership community to work more closely with our online community.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I love to see people have their unlocks when we’re working together.
It’s like breaking ground in a garden. This isn’t just something I’m doing or I enjoy, I truly get joy when I see my purpose actively being fulfilled when clients and brands are taking action on what they’ve learned and what we’ve worked and they start seeing results.
That makes me really happy. That and books and coffee, lol.
