Today we’d like to introduce you to Raelyn Weaver.
Hi Raelyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, my name is Raelyn Weaver; I go by Rae.
CEO of Sunrae Photography. I started my photography business about a year ago. I discovered my love for photography during my senior year of high school. I noticed how I would pay attention to the small details like lighting in the sky, rain against the window after a storm, and beautiful flowers.
I would always capture the unique things that stood out to me on my cellular device at the time. So, one day, I decided that I wanted to be a photographer instead of an actress. I was entering my freshman year of college at that time and had quickly changed my major to photography at webster university.
Now, I did not finish school, but I decided that I’d teach myself everything that I needed to know. I am now a successful freelance photographer with my own business, by the name of Sunrae Photography. I know that myself and my business will continue to grow, as I have to decide to relocate and go back to school in Los Angeles, California.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I must say it hasn’t been a smooth road, but it hasn’t been a rough road either.
I like to say it’s been a little rocky. When you’re first starting a business, it takes a while for you to gain clientele and I feel as if that was and still is something that I’m working on.
It’s been a year; it’ll be two years in August and I am happy to say I have gained more clientele but I would like to see my clientele increase even more. I always say. The sky isn’t the limit.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a freelance photographer. I specialize in creative direction.
I am known for my resilience and always being able to bring any creative concept to life. I’m most proud of myself for never giving up, despite the lack of support I feel I get here in St. Louis.
The thing that sets me apart from others is that I make sure that I have a personal connection with all of my clients and I make them feel like family as if I’ve known them my entire life and I give them creative room to flow.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is Sunrae Photography’s success. Why? Because I owe it to myself to make my big dreams my reality.
