Today we’d like to introduce you to 1212 Flix. Them and their team share their story with us below:
1212 Flix is a Youtube channel produced by and starring the Ambus family: Adrian, Brandi, and Atira.
12/12 itself, started at Cardinal Ritter College Prep where Brandi and Adrian “GB” Ambus began dating on December 12th.
“Ironically, we’re all born on the 12th day of our respective birth months as well. Even our 2-year-old daughter Atira, hence the name of our multimedia company JuNoMar shortened for July, November, and March.”
Brandi studied mass media at Clark Atlanta University. She graduated and went right into the broadcast media industry, working with networks such as NFL, Georgia Public Broadcasting, and Sony. She also worked in advertising as a marketing and sales rep at a leading billboard company in St. Louis.
“Outside of my professional career, I’ve always been an artist. When I returned home to St. Louis, I started a YouTube channel titled ‘Brancakes4sale’, where my content focused on my art and fashion style. Most popularly, thrifting how-tos in the height of the trend.”
GB graduated from Morehouse College with a BA in English. He’s been a musician since childhood, producing and writing music for himself and others. He now owns a publishing company, GBA Publishing, that has produced for artists and film projects.
“When we learned of our pregnancy in 2019, we began documenting the process and uploading vlogs and update videos to our family channel ‘1212 Flix’. Once Atira was born, she made everything better.
We lit up around her and she drew in fans. Tiri, short for Atira, along with the charisma and witty banter between Brandi and GB resulted in the channel becoming a big hit. 1212 Flix showcases a happy black family and the joys of being first-time parents.
In addition to vlogs, we started a cooking show called ‘1212Eats’ where we share vegan recipes and try plant-based products. We wanted to show our peers and others how simple it is to turn your favorite meals into a vegan or plant-based alternative. We also do reactions on a segment titled ‘1212 Reacts’ where we react to or review popular content and programs.”
While Brandi is a visual artist and media maven, GB’s musical and creative genius made the perfect partnership to produce and create content on a larger scale. We have a lot of concepts and we are currently seeking funding and collaborations with other creatives and businesses.
“Our lifestyle lends itself to learning about and sharing alternatives to rigid societal norms. We want to be an example of other options that may have a stigma or just aren’t widely shown. We strive to make things like plant-based diets, connecting with nature, and knowledge of self less taboo. We have a lot of concepts and we are currently seeking funding and collaborations with other creatives and businesses.”
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
With anything that you’re super passionate about, there will be some struggles.
We want things to be perfect or closely match our vision. However, when initially starting out, ambitions can be overwhelming.
Building our brand is a learning process and having gone over a year without missing any release dates we can comfortably say that we are willing to roll with the punches and keep going.

We are a family of three that create content featured on our YouTube Channel 1212 Flix. Brandi owns and operates the multimedia company Junomar. GB, or gB The G1ft, co-founded the company and inspired Brandi to utilize her talents to expand the YouTube channel into much more.
We have films, literary works, artistic capsules, and much more on the way. We also lend our services to other brands and businesses for projects, campaigns, and brand identity development. We do everything from logo design to content creation and more!
Our business goal is to promote family and community progress through self-care and creative expression. Our service is all-encompassing because it highlights our clients’ unique talents or interests as tools for success in business, science, nutrition, nature, or the arts.
