Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Caldwell.
Hi Andrew, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Mr. Delivert” is an internet sensation /radio personality known for his famous “I’m Delivert” video that went viral in November 2014. Andrew Chad Caldwell was born July 28, 1993, in St. Louis, Missouri. I was the youngest of seven children, including; Mark Jones, Darrel Caldwell, Jennifer Williams, LaTrisa Jones, Angela Jones, and Christine Caldwell. I have a heart and compassion for the citizens of Africa. Plans are to help fund and advance the 53 nations of Africa in civilization. Developed by Character, Defined by Testing & Driven by Truth.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a smooth road?
The publicity of the viral video has turned my life upside down. Everywhere I go, people are gawking at me. I could be walking through a mall or a supermarket, and someone will always stop me and ask me, “are you that guy on that I’m not gay no more video”? Sometimes I get so nervous and frustrated that I don’t want to acknowledge them when they call out to me. Most people tend to be very supportive and say things like, “That was very courageous of you” or “May God bless you.” The things that have gotten under my collar, or bowtie, are when there are cat calls that seem hostile. I can’t help myself from responding to anyone’s negative comments. Some people can be very edgy about this subject. One lady punched me in the face and shouted, “my son is gay and what you did is made a mockery of his experiences.” I was physically attacked outside a supermarket in Florissant, MO; I shared a picture of my bloodied nose on Facebook. Some people reacted sympathetically. At the same time, others showed a cynical reaction, as if it was a publicity stunt on my part. I realize that this is a very delicate subject in society. But it was not my desire to seek publicity or make money off this incident. My heart is ministering to people caught up in all kinds of situations life throws at them. I believe that hell will be their destiny if people do not or cannot repent from their sinful living. I may be somewhat blunt about how I express my views, but I’m not trying to be judgmental of anyone. I apologize to anyone who questions my motives. Quite frankly, I am scared about all of this pressure coming upon me. People criticize me for my grammar and punctuation. They mock the way I sometimes butcher and mispronounce words. When trying to put your life back together, those things are unimportant so that you won’t lose your soul. I didn’t attend the best schools. I don’t have advanced degrees. Those things are nice to have, but they are not essential to the salvation of your soul and deliverance from sin. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
If the spirit hits me and makes me want to shout, I have no problem shouting or praying for anyone. I’m just being real. I hear Jesus say that if you are ashamed of me while on earth, I will be ashamed of you in front of my Father and his angels. People can talk about me all they want. It will not affect me. Yes, I like to be loved and accepted, but it is not a requirement. I don’t feel it is fair to live in fear for my life just because I feel a certain way about a controversial topic. I do not have public relations professionals or security.
