Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Johnson.
Hi Brittany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started my first blog in 2012, Love, Style, Transform. I had always been interested in fashion, and fashion/style blogs were becoming increasingly popular, so I wanted to start one. It was a great way to explore my personal style while sharing more of my interests. I’ve re-branded about 3 times since I started my first blog, and my most recent brand is LoveBStyle. This time my brand feels more personal and authentic. I strive to be as transparent as possible while also living my life at the same time. I want women to understand that your style is a reflection of you. It’s how you view yourself and enjoy the world to view you. It’s your form of self-expression.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. It was about how much I could keep up with other bloggers when I started. I wasn’t owning my style and instead would hop on every popular trend, which became exhausting. I had to move from STL to Chicago in 2015 and took that as a time to take a break and re-center myself. I started The New Queenz in 2018 and re-branded to LoveBStyle in 2020 so that my brand could be a more authentic reflection of who I am as a woman. I’m using style now to express myself, not as a way to be like everyone else. That authenticity was the turning point for me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m most proud of the content I’ve been able to create for LoveBStyle. I’ve developed videos that center around style and fashion and help others get fashion inspiration from them. My How To Style videos were some of the most fun content I’ve created. It’s where I took 1 article of clothing and styled it 3 different ways. It helped me to grow my style while also sharing with others that there are many different ways to style something. That content series helped me grow as an influencer/content creator and was where I felt most like myself artistically.
