Conversations with Brandon Kauffman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Kauffman.

Hi Brandon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been involved with entertainment. I started learning the piano when I was 8, moved to banjo when I was 15, and then guitar when I was 16 or 17. I started singing with my family in a bluegrass band and did a little acting. Making people happy through these avenues has always been a passion of mine. Fast forward to today, and I am still mesmerized by music. I do vlogs on my TikTok, YT, and IG channels, and I love to do anything related to cameras. I also own a marketing and video production company – Energize Creative. Energize Creative specializes in helping the renewable energy industry grow through compelling video stories, photography, and design. I’ve been all over the US and Canada and worked for many well-known and huge companies. My impact on the world cultivates kindness and responsibility and diverts people’s attention from the hard times in life. We all need time to unwind and have a great time while taking care of our environment!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Running your own business takes a lot of work. Sometimes you wonder if you’ll make it through the ups and downs. Covid was one of those times business was hard to come by for Energize Creative. But it did give me more time to pursue music. Since 2020 I’ve written a whole album worth of songs that will be recorded and perfected in LA. This studio has helped many big-name artists, and I feel honored to be noticed by them. I’ve always made it a point to pursue my passions and not get sucked into doing things just because I feel like I have to. The feelings I get from doing what I’m passionate about are always worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
Creativity in songwriting for me is never something I want to force. It honestly just hits me out of nowhere. Another artist I was talking to said it best – he said that when you are writing a song, it sometimes feels like you’re not the one writing it but that you’re just a conduit relaying the inspiration you get from somewhere else. That’s mind-blowing to me. I am completely honest about how I feel when I write my songs. I don’t want to write what others expect from me. And as a result, better music is created. There are some technical things that I try to follow, but I don’t want that to ever get in the way of true creativity. Having a great team is key to making entertainment the best possible, so I’m constantly searching for unique talent with which I can partner. Being a DJ and performing live acoustically has also given me a greater understanding of music and how to entertain a crowd. Some of my favorite artists & inspirations include Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth & Ed Sheeran.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk-taking.
I am one of those people who either is cautious or throws caution to the wind. Ok, maybe that’s not accurate. I take calculated risks depending on the reward. But I always try to bet on myself and be true to myself, not what others expect from me.
