Daily Inspiration: Meet Julie Preis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie Preis.

Hi Julie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The message in my storybook is something that has been in my heart to share for over 25 years. In the late 1900s, I had the good fortune to spend one-on-one time with a wonderful Spiritual Teacher. I was assigned to get him some lunch during a break in a conference he was teaching. So to impress him, I took him to Taco Bell. He noticed the car seats in my car, and he asked me about my kids, and we talked about parenting challenges. He must have sensed that I had some self-doubts and worries about motherhood. He encouraged me to remember that my children were God’s children and that God has high hopes and great plans for His children. He talked to me about learning to worry less and to trust more. And that all of my worries would never really help anything. He reminded me that God loves my children even more than I do and that it is important to surround them with prayer and faith. He taught me an easy technique to help remind me to truly let go of my worries and entrust my children to the divine.

These lessons changed everything, and I shared what I learned with everyone I met. Clients and friends said these lessons helped them tremendously and improved their relationships with their kids. I was motivated to tell the whole world. I started to write a parenting book and got permission from the teacher to share his wisdom. I worked on it diligently for a few years but lost courage and thought, “Nobody reads parenting books anyway,” so I gave up. 25 years later, during the covid lock, my mentor asked me if I had thought any more about that parenting book I started so many years ago. I said, “No” I am not inspired to write it. She told me to pray about it, so I did. I usually do whatever she asks me to do. I said a prayer, “Dear God, if you want me to write this book, please send me the inspiration and someone to help.”

A few days later, I talked to a new friend about her daughter, who was experiencing health issues and was away at college. I shared what I learned from my teacher. She said, “This is great information; you should tell everyone. I told her I almost wrote a parenting book but chickened out. She replied, “If you want to get a message to parents, write a children’s book. Then she said, that’s what I do. I write children’s books and am an editor, so I said great. This could be your next children’s book, and she said, “No, Julie, this can be your first children’s book, and I can help you” I like to help new authors. And so the inspiration followed immediately. A story idea came to me, and I wrote and rewrote and wrote some more for many months with Amy’s editing and advice. She then helped me to submit the book to many different publishers, and praise be to God, I found one who liked the message, and he prepared a contract.

A few days after meeting with the publisher, a longtime client came to see me. Her son was struggling with addiction and was using again. Her heart was broken. While I was praying for her, some words came through, and I took out a pad of paper during her session and wrote them down. I read them to her, and she felt like the angels lifted her. More words came in that weekend at Mass, and I wrote them down immediately. I put it all together that night and sent it to my daughter. She said Oh my Gosh, I love that. Where did you find it? I said I just wrote it; it came to me as an answer to a prayer for a client. What? I love it!

I sent it to Amy, and she encouraged me to send it to the publisher. He said I love it; we will do this one first, and the next one will come out next year; please pray for success so we can spread this message that I was born to share. Angels Adore You started over 20 years as a parenting book. In her work as a parent educator and counselor, Julie found that teaching and inspiring faith in God and His Angels were her most effective resource in helping parents raise happy children. As a mother, she relied heavily on her faith and trust in God and His divine love and plan for her children. Upon reaping the benefits of her spiritual efforts, Julie’s focus is now on her grandchildren and as many children and grown-ups as she can inspire them to have faith in their life journey. Her message is simple: Remember that the Angels are here to help, and they truly Adore you!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Faith was an important part of my life growing up. My parents taught me that faith in God could give me the strength and courage to handle life’s challenges. My husband and I worked to provide a strong spiritual foundation for our three (now grown) children. The “Angel of God” prayer (included in the story) was a bedtime ritual for our family, and we felt the blessings of the angels on numerous occasions. But 1995, my spiritual world expanded further when I took a Pranic Healing class. My teacher, Master Choa Kok Sui, developed Pranic Healing. Its effectiveness is based on the fact that we are made in the image of God, which is also to say that we are made up of energy. This teaching made all my parents taught me about being a child of God quite tangible. Pranic Healing invokes the help of God and his angels to help heal ourselves and others. MCKS emphasizes spirituality while honoring all religions as a bridge to spiritualization.

In my early work as a counselor and the last 26 years as a pranic healer, I have supported many clients through difficult times. Many of the kids I see suffer from anxiety due to a parent’s stress, loss, pain, or illness. I like to employ several tools to help kids deal with their stress (and stop carrying their parents’ stress), including the mindfulness techniques of gratitude, allowing feelings to surface and release, deep breathing, and meditation or prayer. However, I find the biggest help is the “Ball of Light” technique, taught in full detail at the end of this book.

By writing this story about a spunky little puppy and his boy, I will provide a way for parents or caregivers to connect with children and learn about these important and life-altering techniques in an organic and meaningful way.
