Today we’d like to introduce you to Ko Ko T.
Hi Ko Ko, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Painting, mosaic work, and oil pastels all started when I was a kid. After a biased third-place finish of an art competition in grade school; I got pretty deterred. At that moment, I vowed never to create artwork again. Although my life grew, I was still missing something and needed a release. Then there I was one day, standing in the middle of a craft store—a cart full of mosaic pieces, sand, paint, and other materials. Sleeping Beauty had awoken but the artist version.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life in the art world has been great. Anything I may be struggling with, I leave it on the canvas. Other than that, things can get pretty bumpy and protrude off canvases, stick out corners, or even poke from closets. Everything is perfect in my world when you’re being creative.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in mosaic and textured paintings. Ranging from anime characters, public figures, musicians- anyone I find influential or has sparked interest. I’m proud of my performance skills after not picking a paintbrush or canvas for so long. Have to admit, I still got it. Lol. My spirit of creativity is what sets me apart from other artists.
What’s next?
The plan for the future is to open my very own gallery and art studio. I’m making big plans to give St. Louis one of the most eccentric art venues it has to offer.
