Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Phiffer.
Hi Anthony, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Anthony; I’ve always been visual imagery of a pure lifestyle. From age 4, I was already set to be significant and influential in everything I did. I religiously lived a leadership life and developed a community of world leaders like myself. Before and even now, basketball is how it all started. I attended Webster Groves HS and played varsity basketball as a freshman throughout my high school career. I won many awards and championships on and off the court, which molded me into who I am. After high school, I got a full-ride scholarship to STLCC, but my dreams of becoming a professional NBA player were cut short due to the number of concussions I had before my college career. So, I used that pain and setback to create a new/old version of myself through music, fashion, and the art of using my voice as a weapon to reach others in my position or similar to mine. We all have a story to share, and it’s my mission and purpose to provide mine to the world to help others and show people what it’s like to invest in yourself no matter what hand you’re dealt in life.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Life has never been an easy process for me. We have all battled hardships and demons in our lives, of course. But I’ve lost so many friends, family members, etc, to the point where I felt so alone in this world, making me create my perspective of life and what it offers me personally. I’ve been knocked down so often that I no longer let anything faze me. I overthink everything! But in my eyes, I love that I do that because God installed all the tools necessary to complete my vision in whatever I put my mind to. Why? Because I feel as if I saw it all in my head now, it’s up to me to decide and pursue what I want. Nobody can tell me my vision or way of life is wrong because I know that only God and I know the number of feelings and struggles I faced to obtain these thoughts.
As you know, we’re big fans of BeTheMotto. What can you tell our readers, who might not be as familiar with the brand, about it?
My teacher, Mrs. Rainey, always told me I had the mind of a great philosopher named Anthony Phiffer. So, I took that and ran with it to create my brand, BeTheMotto, aka BTM. I support, build community, and create lasting things. So, I incorporated that into my brand, making it my lifestyle. If you were to ask me what BTM means to me, you must live a life that you see fit to your liking, no matter what anyone else thinks. You must be the motto in life and live your life the way you want people to see you and our world. Therefore, I have a podcast called BeTheMottoPodcast and a clothing line about to drop soon called TheMottoWay or BeTheMotto overall. I specialize in being human and showing people that it’s okay to be human and to feel and do as you must every day. I want everyone to know that no matter what, their life is theirs, and no one can take that state away from them besides themselves and God. That’s what sets me and my brand/community apart. We know who we are as individuals and that our life’s purpose is to create world peace and unity to restore the world we lose daily due to the negativity and hatred this society creates daily—BeTheMotto: Visual Imagery of a Pure Lifestyle.
