Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Siebert.
Hi Jenna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a St. Louis native with generational roots in Soulard. I am so grateful to have a few properties and businesses in this gem of a neighborhood. Currently, I live in Webster Groves with my amazing husband and daughter. We bought a bungalow cottage-style home here that we have been renovating over the years. Interior design and creating cozy spaces is something that I have been doing ever since Jason and I got married (26 years ago)!
I have always been drawn to design and art in one form or another. Over the years, I have always designed and styled my personal spaces (my own residential homes and workplaces). I leaned into the interior design world when my bakery business, The Sweet Divine, had a fire in Oct 2016. My building had to be completely gutted and reconstructed from the ashes. I was devastated. With everything I had, I jumped in to create a beautiful new bakery space and my first short-term rental, the Gold Door Loft. That was pure inspiration for me.
My love for design continued. With the bakery now open and my Airbnb, Gold Door Loft, going strong, I decided to focus more on interior design. I was hooked. That is when I started the J&J Design team. It evolved into a design business focused on short-term rentals and Airbnb’s Airbnb. With the help of my husband, Jason, I began styling, designing, and managing short-term rental properties. This started a whole new business within a business! I have been hosting guests now since 2017. I currently own and manage 4 of my short-term rentals. I love this fun and rewarding hospitality lifestyle! I have also styled, designed, and helped manage dozens of Airbnbs for clients all over St. Louis and beyond.
I closed my bakery, The Sweet Divine, in June 2023 to retire from the bakery life. That business of thirteen years was a fantastic ride full of opportunities. I am beyond grateful for every single bit of it. Even though I closed it to retire early, I knew in my heart that there was something more I wanted to do that revolved around PINK! About a month after the bakery closed, I searched for the perfect property. In the meantime, while the property search was taking place, my collecting of all things pink had begun. I found the perfect home in November. I closed on it a month later, and my husband and I did the fastest remodel to date! With a 5 week turnaround, I was hosting my first guests by the middle of January, and it has been thriving ever since. My new Pink rental house, Pink Posh Place, is a creation that was born from my love of design, hospitality, and all the inspired “pink” energy from my former bakery business. One of my favorite things in the house is the giant CAKE sign from the bakery. This makes my heart so happy!
Now that the pink house (Pink Posh Place) is rocking, I have time on my hands to start writing my book. I have many amazing customers and followers from the bakery days asking for my recipes. I am super excited to be focusing my energy on writing my recipe book. The Sweet Divine’s legacy will live on! I still make time to do interior design work because I love to create “feel-good” spaces. And I am always on the hunt for our next property to build.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My path has been a freaking roller coaster with all kinds of twists, turns, and mountains to climb. But the journey has been the best part of it all and continues to be incredible. There are always silver linings and lessons to be learned with any obstacle and struggle. My biggest struggles along the way have been trying to stop overworking myself and burning the candle at both ends, learning patience, and taking time to rest and recharge. I had the hustle mentality for a long time, and now it’s time to slow it down and breathe. I am a big believer in manifesting and divine timing. I am thoroughly enjoying my life right now and embracing it all. Hard work, determination, and focused energy have gotten me where I am today. I am so very grateful for everything!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Since my bakery days, I have been on several national productions for my cupcakes and cakes. I won Food Network’s Cupcake Wars (season six)! I was on Food Network three times for Cupcake Wars and Cake Wars, The Cooking Channel for the Food Truck Nation show, and multiple local news stations for cake competitions and discussing our desserts. My husband and I did the Food Network episodes together and had so much fun! Traveling to LA for these shows was a blast! Those extensive production experiences were some of my most incredible opportunities. My path has led me to the Design + Hospitality business, and I love it!
I am known for the luxury and themed spaces that I have designed. I incorporate feng shui in my styling and work with the energy within the space. Every home will tell you what it wants if you listen. I love creating “feel-good” spaces! I am enjoying my journey of becoming an author and building my dream life. This is an exciting new chapter! Life is constantly changing, so I have learned to go with the flow and embrace it. Someday, I want a cute little art studio on my property somewhere where I can create all kinds of art when the inspiration hits. I plan always to make some form of art until I am no longer capable.
Before we go, can you talk to us about how people can work, collaborate, or support you?
I love collaborating and hosting creatives of all sorts in our rental properties. Hosting photographers, productions, and content creators is so cool! I accept new design clients for Airbnb properties, residential homes, and commercial spaces. I offer an e-design service, too, which makes it super convenient for busy or distant out-of-state clients. I also travel for suitable design projects as long as they align with my style and vibe.
