Inspiring Conversations with Nicole Brice of Mixed Alternative Magazine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Brice.

Nicole Brice

Hi Nicole, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
What can I say about my professional career besides that it has been a journey? It began after college when I worked in Marketing for a franchisee of a well-known fast-food restaurant chain, and it culminated in me building a brand from the ground up with zero outside help. I was introduced to radio, production, and voice-over work in college, and the skills I learned have carried over into my new endeavor of building the brand of Mixed Alternative Magazine. What is Mixed Alternative Magazine, you ask? It is a home for independent creatives to showcase their skills to the world without getting lost in corporate advertising. We support those who hustle daily to have their crafts seen and heard, and we work hard to try and go through all submissions we receive. While what we do is not easy, we all have passion and dedication to the overall message and brand and want to make a difference in the world. We are trusting the process and proceeding as we see fit.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. We have encountered numerous obstacles, but they have not deterred us. We have a mission, and we are sticking to it—simple as that. Struggles have included trying to find like-minded individuals with a strong passion for music, arts, and entertainment and a desire to help build a brand and culture from the ground up.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Mixed Alternative Magazine?
Mixed Alternative Magazine is a new brand looking to shine a light on independent creatives from all over the world. We strive for authenticity rather than perfection and want our reviews and words to reflect that. We recently launched our YouTube channel, where we have two shows we are producing. One is called “Reviews on the Reel”, a monthly show devoted to showcasing talented musicians throughout the great state of Louisiana and beyond. Jason Beard with Sixto6 Productions is the man with the plan who helps us bring the vision to life. Our second show is titled “Unscripted Verbiage”, and it is a show designed to encourage independent thought and organic conversation while also promoting creatives. While we have only been around since October 2022, we continue to make strides daily in growing our brand to more recognizable levels.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
We do not have ads on our website and will not ever. We do not want to sell you anything besides our brand and authentic thoughts and recommendations. If anything, we hope to enlighten you as you discover more of what we are about.
