Hi DANITA, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I became a nurse at the young age of 17 and continued my education with a BSN and then MBA completion in 2009. I’ve worked in a community and teaching hospital a majority of my RN career. From there I learned of all the health disparities and lack of access to healthcare for many. I wanted to play a pivotal role in ensuring my community had access. I opened My Blooming Health in 2013 on the premise of bringing the medical laboratory into the homes. This allowed people who are elderly or disabled to have another option of getting their blood work done timely since 75% of diagnoses are determined through lab results.
In 2022 I expanded to the IV hydration lounge where we can offer high quality intravenous vitamins and hydration for those needing a boost or medically unable to absorb their nutrients by mouth. Our FDA approved medical weight-loss program plays a key role in improving our clients overall health while fighting obesity. Obesity is detrimental to our health and we’re glad to offer this key component that many will need to jumpstart their health journey.
I am currently in a doctoral program to further open career paths where I can assist my community in improving their health. I truly love what I do and believe God chose me for this purpose.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh there’s many struggles when owning and operating your own company. Some challenges are being dependent on other start ups to help you with a startup . They are also a novice so you have to be mindful and vet everyone and everything. Financial cash flow is definitely a trigger and having a mentor is key.

For many years we were the only mobile phlebotomy team in the area. We are experts in what we do. We only hire qualified professionals and pride ourselves in the overall training we complete to provide excellent customer service.
I am a Registered Nurse with 30 years healthcare experience. I am extremely proud of the support I’ve received from my office manager and sister, Gigi. She has been key in shaping the position our team upholds now through her training and ongoing support.
I believe our brand has been consistent and stands to be recognized as efficient, kind and professional.
In addition to our professionalism and experience, our community can be assured we go above and beyond to offer affordable services, will communicate effectively and ensure our service delivery remains top notch. We do not just hire to keep staff. We hire to ensure our community and health partners are properly cared for.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Yes, we will continue to pivot with what the future holds. With ongoing studies, through research we can guarantee we will always deliver exceptional care while taking an evidence based approach. We will add on services and expand to meet the needs of our community.
