Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Stringfellow.
Hi Alexis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started doing nails in 2020, I was working at the airport in March of 2020 as a server and was laid off due to covid. I would just sit at home and think of way to make money and do something I love. My little cousin was doing nails at the moment & I loved it. So, I started practicing every day on family, friends myself, etc. I started buying a lot of supplies to make sure I was ready. Since that day forward I’ve been doing nails, I’ve actually started a press on business as well. I teach classes to help people learn more as well. It’s been two years that I haven’t worked for anybody but myself and I love it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It will always be a bump in the road my son once poured fifteen of my acrylic powders out which was over $300 so I was very upset but my family & friends supported me and helped me get them back. I struggled, in the beginning, trying to rush the process but everything can’t be rushed, I was trying to do designs before I actually realized the most important thing is application & shape, sanitation as well.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a nail artist, I specialize in nails, nail art, press-on nails, and nail teaching. I’m known for being unique and thinking outside of the box. I’m proud that I can call my own self the boss, what sets me apart from everyone is that I actually love what I do. Every nail set I do mostly comes from my head. I love being different and unique.
