Today we’d like to introduce you to Arturo Smith.
Hi Arturo, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hey, my name is Arturo Smith but all my friends call me Ace. I’m a Hiphop rapper turned serial Entrepreneur which also followed by a film director. I stepped away from the hiphop scene years ago after doing tons of shows with artists like d4l, shawty lo, young buck just to name a few. I created a company called Promogeeks Media where we specialize in graphics, photography, videography, and making custom items. We quickly rose to be one of the top media company’s in the Midwest. It wasn’t easy by any means. It took long nights and days of spreading the brand around so everyone could know who we were.
Fast forward, covid came and we thought our business was over I didn’t know what to do. Covid made people cancel all photo events, weddings anything that enclosed us being in the same space, it was canceled but God had our plans to take the business. The custom item side shot up. We started making more things. That’s the side of the business that made it through to keep us afloat now. Since then, we have opened up a shop at 6518 west Florissant St. Louis, Mo 63136 along with a media studio and event space and it’s still a learning process but God got the wheel. I appreciate ya for listening to my quick story.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t. I had a business partner starting off when promogeeks was created things were lovely but he had other plans in what he wanted to do with his life which left me stuck with a bunch of clients to service and figure things out about this brand we built.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are really known for our major feature film we released in 2014 titled Stl the movie which is on our YouTube promogeeks and also for our custom items for people keeping their love ones dream alive our custom items or like no other.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My mother taking us down to the original kennel plaza to play in the water. Those were some of the best times and it didn’t take any money to do it.
