Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Cole.
Hi Ashlee, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My interest in jewelry making started several years ago but between being a working single mom and a full-time student, I didn’t have much time to dedicate to this new interest.
Last year, on our family trip, my niece expressed an interest in making charm bracelets, so spending time bonding with her sparked my interest in making jewelry again and it went from there.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. There are days when I’m discouraged because I’ve hit a block and I don’t feel like I can be as creative as I want or even days when I feel like I’m in a market that can be considered over-saturated and my products won’t be desired.
One internal struggle I had was remaining consistent with producing products.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make both pre-made and custom beaded charm bracelets and apple watch bands. I specialize in making each set individual and unique to the customer. I have never made and will never make the same sets so each set sold is truly one of a kind.
I’ve researched several of my competitors and the most noticeable difference between me and others is the price point. I believe in creating a unique product but also keeping my items at a reasonable price.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would be spending time with my siblings the night before Christmas. My brothers would always bring their mattresses into my room or make pallets on my floor so we could all wake up together on Christmas morning as early as possible to wake up our parents and open gifts.
