Check Out Biljana – Bibi Erdeg’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Biljana – Bibi Erdeg

Hi Biljana – Bibi, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started being interested in photography when I met my husband. His family has a long history in the photography field, dating back to the early 1900s. This rich heritage and enduring passion for capturing moments on film inspired me to delve into the world of photography.
He introduced me to the art of photography, opening my eyes to its beauty and complexity. At that time, I began to be fascinated by the universality of emotions and the unique language of human expression. It was a revelation to see how a single photograph could convey a myriad of feelings and stories, transcending language and cultural barriers.
I spent several years working in professional printing labs, teaching photography at college, and assisting with commercial projects. These experiences have enriched my understanding of the technical and artistic aspects of photography, shaping my approach and skills.
I enjoy the creative side of working with people and brands. They welcome me into their dynamics and spaces, allowing me the freedom to create with them. This collaborative process is incredibly rewarding, and I feel very fortunate that as a professional photographer, I get to experience that.
These days, I focus on fashion photography, including e-commerce and campaigns, model portfolio development, and portrait photography for business professionals. This specialization allows me to combine my love for creativity with a keen eye for detail. Every project is an opportunity to explore new ideas and to create visually compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
However, it was not the easiest road for me to be where I am now. Moving from Croatia to the USA was exciting but not easy. I faced a lot of differences in understanding life and doing business in Europe versus the USA. This experience made me resilient and adaptable, which I consider to be invaluable qualities.
Throughout this transition, I encountered various challenges that tested my adaptability and resilience. Navigating cultural differences, understanding new business practices, and rebuilding my professional network from scratch required determination and perseverance. Yet, these obstacles also presented opportunities for growth and learning, allowing me to refine my skills and broaden my perspective.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
