Today we’d like to introduce you to Dellicia Jones
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story began back in high school, when I first developed a passion for being my own boss. I dabbled in a few side ventures over the years, but nothing truly clicked for me like hair did. Then in 2018, after my father passed away, something inside me shifted. I had always sought his approval and, in my heart, I felt like I hadn’t yet done enough for him to be proud of me. When he passed, I realized I had to do things differently. I wanted more for myself—not just for me, but to honor him. That’s when everything started to change.
Beauty had always been a passion of mine, but it wasn’t until I saw the support from others that I truly dove into it. I started out doing hair in my mother’s living room, setting up a small space with a backdrop and a ring light. At first, it wasn’t about making money; it was about building content, showcasing my skills, and building trust. I knew that consistency was key. If I stayed dedicated and kept putting out quality work, people would start to trust me—and that’s exactly what happened.
As my clientele grew, I moved from my mom’s house to a townhouse, but I kept taking clients in the downstairs living room. It was there that I really started to see the potential of my business. The demand kept increasing, and I realized it was time to take the next step. That’s when I made the decision to move to my first salon location in 2018.
From working in a small corner of my mother’s home to running a full-fledged business, this journey has been a testament to my resilience, my passion, and my commitment to building something that not only honor my father’s memory, but it also lays the foundation for my future. My fiancé and daughter & family inspire me more each day.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course, it hasn’t always been a smooth road. My faith was tested more times than I can count. One of the first major struggles I faced was simply not making enough money to take care of myself. I remember there was a period when I was living in my townhouse, trying to take my passion seriously, but I couldn’t even keep the lights on.
The salon I worked at was just up the street from my home, and every day that I had clients, I’d walk there. I’d pray, asking God just to help me make enough to cover booth rent—enough to stay in that space so I could keep growing. And God answered. Slowly but surely, I started to see more clients, and eventually, I was making enough to cover my bills and responsibilities.
Being an entrepreneur—especially in a service-based business—can be discouraging. One month, you’re fully booked, and the next, you’re struggling just to fill your schedule. But that’s the nature of the grind. It takes faith, resilience, and keeping God at the center of it all. I learned that if you keep pushing and trust the process, He’ll make sure you make it through
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a 30-year-old hairstylist and entrepreneur specializing in soft, sophisticated, luxury hairstyles. My reputation grew from my ability to create sleek and innovative ponytail looks—transforming clients’ ideas into beautifully executed styles. What I’m most proud of is my resilience—both in my personal growth and in building a thriving brand. Beyond my technical skills, what truly sets me apart is my dedication to exceptional customer service. I take a professional yet empathetic approach with every client, ensuring they not only love their hairstyle but also have a memorable, high-end experience from start to finish.

I’d say my resilience and exceptional customer service are the most important qualities behind my success.
my resilience has allowed me to grow, adapt, and build a strong brand despite any challenges. It’s clear I take pride in my journey, and that determination is what keeps me pushing forward.
my customer service and empathetic approach sets me apart in an industry where client experience is just as important as the final look. The fact that people trust me for their special events speaks volumes about how I handle clients with professionalism and care.
